Lets Rally Around President Bush

This may seem like an obvious suggestion but why don't you just reach down and pull your head out? You don't have to keep it there.
Richie, good post. But I think you are being too hard on JoeEpcot. Normally I don’t think people should censure themselves in this type of forum. But given what has happened these past 6 years, I think you need to consider the feelings of conservatives before making this type of comment.

You see one of the overlooked tragedies of Bush’s remarkable incompetence is the disheartening impact he has had on the psyche of his most ardent supporters. As it becomes ever more apparent that Bush would have serious problems managing a convenience store, Republicans have become increasingly confused and discombobulated.

When your President turns out to be frighteningly incompetent and pathetically dim-witted, humor is always the first thing to go. And it breaks my heart to watch these vital people lose their sense of humor in the face of Bush’s abject failure.

That’s why many Bush supporters react so negatively to my posts. My objective isn’t to hurt anyone. I don’t hate these people, I’m actually trying to help them. Bush is going to be an incompetent idiot no matter what I or anyone else posts on these boards. But hopefully a few Bush supporters will get past their pain and re-discover what it is like to laugh again.

It's good to see that more and more Americans find back to reality :thumbsup2

MossMan, good post. But I think you're being too obtuse. Blah, blah, blah.

Sorry about that Richie, I suppose I should tone down the satire a little. I didn't know you were taking the whole incompetent President thing so hard. I came to terms with Bush's incompetence about 3 years ago. So I sometimes forget how hard it is for those who are just coming to the same realization.

Look, if it makes you feel any better, go ahead and defend the guy. What can it hurt. Bush may be an embarassing failure as a President, but he is still a human being. And as a human being it can't hurt to occasionally direct some pity his way.

Mossman, when I read the title and read the Op-I thought,"huhhh, I gotta read this one!" :rotfl2: :thumbsup2
And...it was only three years ago that you came to grips with the incompetency? My husband got it when he first heard W speak and my husband said, "NOW, I understand about Quayle!"
Maybe a poll is in order.
When did you notice the POTUS was incompetent?
1.first election campaign
2.911 and the goat story thing
3.the "nuculer" vs. "nuclear" thing
4.Not being able to find Osama
5.Turning Osama into Saddam
6. relying on obviously false information to invade Iraq
..........
and on and on

I'm not defending him. I think if you're very generous the very best thing that can be said of President Bush is mediocre. But I agree some are having a hard time seeing that. Just as some are having a hard time remembering he can't run again. But you're right, different day, same heads in same holes.
