Let's plan Together! Jan 2009

In reference to Super Bowl week we were there in January 2001 durring Super Bowl and there were not larger crowds. I think like someone else mentioned the prices for SB tix are soo high people can not afford both.

Also add me to the list for the 2009 codes please.

It is a lot closer this year than in 2001.

We will be headed to FW campgrounds from January 16-25!!!!!

I can do my ADR's for 180 + 9 (since I am only staying 9 days) on Sunday, and I will be at the beach for vacation!!!!

Look out Loretta!!!! I will have everyone in the condo up at 7:00 am with my jibber jabber on the phone with a Disney CM!!!!!

Hi !

I'm planning a return trip to WDW in early Jan. Our group will very likely be me, DW, DS, DFIL, and DMIL.

Planning on staying in POFQ or if we can strech it, AKL.

-Pete

We are planning a visit from Jan 6-10 or 13-17. Are there any events, conventions, etc. that I should avoid to reduce crowds?

Thanks

The weekend of 10th and 11th will be the marathon weekend. Lots of runners.

My DH and I will be there Jan 9-12 (first time without kids) We are running the half marathon and celebrating our 17 year anniversary :lovestruc. We have booked CSR...hoping for a discount!

We're going January 11 - 17th. Staying at the GF. I was a little concerned about the Disney Marathon, but the travel agent assured me that the crowds won't be too bad. We're leaving just before MLK weekend, so we can enjoy the value prices. We booked 3 AAA room only for now. If we decide to book packages, does anyone know if we can get a discount (assuming Disney may offer one?) Will the discount apply to room only? We may just keep it at room only if that's the only way to get a discount. Is it too early to make ADR? :dance3:

DD and I will be at WDW 1/16- 1/26. She has 3 days off school during those dates (MLK day, the Friday of that same week, and the following Monday), so we can do a 10 night vacation, and she'll only miss 3 school days! It will be our 3rd "all girls" trip (DH isn't a Disney freak like we are).

We got a good deal on an offsite hotel on Hotwire, and I will be ordering tix from Undercover Tourist. Now that the hours are out, I am working on schedules and figuring out which restaurants we want to make ADRs for.

No, it's not too early to make your ADR's. My arrival date is January 16th and I was able to make my ADR's today.

I have been off of these sites for a while, but we were at our 180th day last week, called on Monday for our ADR's. Was able to get all but the Sprit of Aloha - they said the computer system was being upgraded and to call be in Oct. I even called two times and got the same answer. So I will post here, and on the other one, but help........ does anyone know what's going on ??

They are changing the ADR system, I'm suprised yo were able to get any ADR's at all...

Your 180 day mark puts you at... Late January?
If you are going to be there past January 25th you will have to make the
ressies for those dates in mid october.

The new system has made it impossible to make ressies past January 25th
until mid october, then bussiness will resume as usual..

Glad to see you got some of your ADR's though!

Yes We Are Jan 15-24. The Cm Told Me That They Are Extending The 2008 Dining Plan Until Jan 14th. Go Figure, We Go The 15th!

We'll See Though Just How Much It Changes.

Really? I called today to change some of our ADRs (we're under the wire for the system change). The CM asked if we were on dining; I said, "I don't know, it's not out yet", and she laughed and said, "Oh, right."

I wonder which is true?

RoseGrows,

You don't have to worry about the marathon. We were there last year, I actually ran, and the marathon doesn't effect the crowd levels.

Anyone.... is the MLK weekend horribly busy? We are going a week ealier this year, and of course, now I realize it's MLK weekend.

I just called again. They said some places aren't yet loaded into the computer
and that's why I was able to make ADR's for all of my places except for Spirit.

She said, they don't know when it will be loaded. Ugh...
Don't they know - people like me will call every few days and ask about it until it's up and running !!!
