Let's list 5 things we love about the summer. Maybe that will warm us all up!
In no particular order:
1.) Barbeque chicken - it tastes okay, but there is something about the smell and ritual of barbequeing chicken on the grill, on the deck, in amongst the container garden, that is so relaxing and just screams summer.
2.) The 4th of July -- I llike it more than Christmas.
Why? Because family and friends get together in a relaxed atmosphere, without the worries or stresses of the holiday season, to relax and have a good time. You make potato salad, head over to a friends, enjoy a picnic, some laughs, set off some illegal fireworks, run screaming from the illegal fireworks
, then head home. It's a fun, relaxing day.
3.) Long days - I love that I wake up with the sun blazing and settle in for the night as the sun goes down.
4.) Fireflies, lady bugs, praying mantis and butterflies - they make me smile.
5.) Outdoor concerts and festivals - the summer breathes life into the Philadelphia area. People, food, different cultural celebrations, songs under the stars, dancing in the streets etc.
Anyone next?
