Let's hear from all you OFF KILTER fans !!!!

I got my call back from WDW, and mostly from what she didn't say, the plan is still muddling along with them. Usually, the people who call are at least willing to listen, but she kept coming back with a pat script of something like . . . Sometimes things need to change and it's not always a bad idea . . . I asked her if she had ever seen them and she said she had and they had so many fans, etc. Guess they need to be overwhelmed with emails and letters to rethink this very bad "idea." Off to write to Mr. Igor, etc.

Pam

At least someone called you! It's so much easier for them to chicken out and send most of us a canned e-mail response.

I got the email, too, but didn't pay attention to it. Those are a dime a dozen.
I hope that there are legions of fans out there writing letters and emails to WDW. The kilts are part of their persona, and changing it is akin to taking off Mickey's ears IMHO.

Pam

I heard from a little birdie that Disney has reconsidered and the kilts are staying! They may change their shirts.

Now write to Disney and thank them!!

I hope to be in Indy this weekend and get the scoop. Have a few family medical issues that have come up and I may not know until the last minute if I can get there.

Would that be "freshly laundered shirts"...as the British Invasion wear? :lmao:

Hope to see you there this weekend, Debbie! :woohoo:

Yay, what GREAT news :thumbsup2. I'll be seeing them in 3 short days, before they head to Indy. Hope everyone that's going to Indy has a great time. Make sure to send them back to Orlando in one piece so they can celebrate my birthday with me next week :woohoo::cool1:.

I wonder if there will be NO Off Kilter playing at Canada on Sunday, or an all-sub Off Kilter?

I wondered that too Nancy. When I saw them in May, Jamie promised me that they would be back at Epcot playing on Monday :).

Kilts are staying. Shirts are changing. And possibly socks are changing as well (from white to red). And they painted the posts on the stage with little pine trees - kind of lame but not too distracting.

Is Jason going to Indy?
The only way I could see an all-sub Off Kilter, is if Jason took over as front man.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the new costumes/uniforms and also pictures of Indy, their first festival road trip in years!

I am so relieved that the kilts are staying. :thumbsup2

I haven't heard if Jason will be going to Indy. I hope he will, but I kind of doubt it.

I heard that they would wear "Canadian" tee shirts and keep the kilts. :cool1: I imagine that everyone is really happy with how it turned out. I know I am.
There must have been tons of letters and emails to WDW, yet the news wasn't even really posted anywhere official. They do have tons of loyal fans!

Thanks for informing us, Pam and getting the ball rolling on the Keep The Kilts project.
Looks like the emails and letters made a difference. :thumbsup2

I hope the Indy Fest is going well and I hope everyone who is attending is having a blast! :cool1:

The Indy Irish Fest was great although I only got to see Friday and Saturday because my husband wanted to be home to watch the Colts play. Grrr.
Anyway, Danny Flores was there on keyboard and Jason was playing fiddle along with Jamie, Mark, Randy and Scott. The audience was huge, and they loved OK. There were a lot of people lined up afterwards to buy shirts and CDs. There were so many people watching that Jason was taking photos of the audience while they were warming up. It was a pretty impressive showing! They were the Headliner Band, and none of the other ones had 1/10the people watching.
Needless to say, the guys were pumped and put on a great show. The encore for the first night was Born to Be Wild, and they were. The jokes were flying. Scott was out in the open, and those drumsticks were a blur. I'm so glad I went. I saw fellow OK fans whom I previously met in WDW from Ohio, Orlando, and Albuquerque, NM! A good time was had by all!

Don't forget "Magic Carpet Ride"! Now I know who you are! :) I was sitting next to Debbie (Epcot Kilter Fan) last night, and we were all talking about the costumes!

By the way - your husband could've watched the Colts play LIVE in Indy!

And now I know who you are! The lady sitting with me came from Albuquerque to see them. She got the news about the change first. I'm just glad that so many people contacted Disney about the kilts. Sheer numbers did the trick, and it was definitely a group effort!

I know he could have watched it in Indy, but his back was really, really hurting, and he did record the first two shows for me, so I had to cut him some slack. If they come next year, I may have to leave him at home.

Thanks for the Festival reports, guys! :)
It sounds amazing. I see on Steve Soares' schedule that they will play at Epcot Mon. - Fri. this week.
I bet Danny had a blast and I hope all is well with Tony.

We taped the first two days of the Indy Irish Fest and made Dvds of them. Would like to get them to youtube and fanpop so that the guys can get credit for a fine performance, but don't have the equipment of know-how to do it. Can one of you do that? The Dvds can either be in Hi-Def or regular. We have both.
Thanks a lot.
Oh, the new uniforms are thatveveryone is wearing the red kilts, red socks, and various shirts with a maple leaf on them.

I wish I could help you on the technical stuff, but no can do. I can barely change the station on the TV.
All I can suggest is to check the manual that came with the camcorder, or find it online. That is, unless you know a clever teenager. :goodvibes

Even Jamie gets a red kilt now at Epcot?

I have all of their albums (bought through their website), and listen to them regularly. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!!
