It's New York pizza for me. It's just not the same anywhere else and that includes anywhere outside a 50 mile radius of NYC.
One thing I've learned living in an area where people are from all over the country is that you tend to favor what you're used to. If you grew up with it or lived with is for much of your life, it's the benchmark for judging everything else. For us former New Yorkers it's pizza, bagels, deli, bakery, even bugers (what some people put on a burger...) and dogs. Here in The Villages area we have countless pizza shops, delis, and other places that claim to be "New York style,", but not on their best day and a New Yorker's worst day. That doesn't necessarilly mean they're bad, just not "New York style."

We had them put the rest in a take-out container and took it back to the hotel for the desk clerk (who was thrilled!)
