How will I ever be able to wait that long?

I know, we are huge slackers!!! Terry's grandma is flying in today, I have to leave in a while to drive up to Portland to get her... But after we get her settled and Terry gets home from work and visits with her for a little bit, I will try and get our departure day typed out... Terry took no pictures that day so it will be lacking visual effects, but at least we will get it done!

looking forward to seeing more

:welcome: Hopefully we will get the show on the road soon!

Yay!!! I am so excited to read!! Woo hoo!!! Can't wait to hear all about the trip!!! So did you figure out a halloween costume yet?? If Terry is going to be what you suggested, I think you might have trouble finding a matching costume!!! LOl :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Well, there is one obvious choice that would match the one I texted you about for Terry... :rolleyes1 But honestly, we are not even sure we will go to the Halloween party at all cause by the time Terry gets off work and we have dinner and take the kids trick or treating then head to the party we will only have about 1 1/2 or 2 hours until we go home cause Terry has to get up for work at 4am... Not sure it's worth the 150 dollars it would cost me right now! And he won't be able to drink, and with costumes like that, he would need the booze!! :laughing:

Ha Ha!!! You freaking crack me up! LOL!!! :lmao: I totally just realized Halloween is on a Saturday this year!!! And of course that's Devon's weekend with his dad!! :guilty: So sad! I don't blame you for bailing on the party if you can only be there for 1 1/2! And I agree with costumes like that, you definitely need some alcohol in you!!! :laughing:

Welcome home! Can't wait to read your TR (Terry, I hear you about processing pictures... it is VERY time consuming).

On the day of our departure to the airport hotel, Terry had to work 11a-8p...

We got all the last minute stuff packed, set up the laptop to use my blackberry as a modem... Cleaned the house and did the last bit of laundry...

Our printer ran out of ink as we printed the first boarding pass... :scared1: SO for the next 45 minutes Terry tried to figure out a way to get them printed while being too cheap to actually buy the ink cartridge... :rolleyes: He had just upgraded out windows to Vista so our lazor jet wouldn't work and he couldn't get them to print off his Dad's printers next door... So after me threatening bodily harm for the first time this trip, he finally went and bought the ink cartridge... We are not even on the road yet and El Cheapo has reared his ugly head... :headache:

At this point it is time to take Terry to work, so I become the worst mother on the planet, and I lie to my daughter... Daddy's truck won't start and we have to take him to work... She bought it and even shed a few tears for Daddy's truck... :laughing:

Once we got home from dropping Terry off at work, we got Tailor's room all cleaned up and vacuumed the house, cleaned bathrooms... You know, the fun stuff... ;) Then I started loading the van... Made sure the hotel address was in Ellie Mae, our Garmin...

I was all set and ready by 2... I watched TV until 3:30 when Alec got home, helped him get his room cleaned, homework done, and unload his backpack and reload it with his plane entertainment... By 4:30 I was ready to leave Terry behind and have him meet us at the hotel when he got off work... :rotfl:

I spent the next hour and a half watching TV and DISing... At 6pm, Terry calls and says, "Come get me!" :woohoo: His Captain was probably tired of hearing him talk about vacation! :lmao: So I throw the kids in the car and lied to Alec about the whole truck/luggage thing... I drove like a wild woman to pick him up... I packed an extra set of clothes so he could change and not be in his uniform all night, so after he changes, we head to Wendy's and have a very healthy meal of hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, and baked potatoes...

We jumped on I-5 and it was smooth sailin'... We got to the hotel at PDX about 7:30, and by the time we got checked in, unloading the million bags out of the van and got it parked in long term parking, it was a little after 8...

We threw on our bathing suits and went to the pool... The kids love swimming and they had a blast... We swam for about an hour... We even sat in the hot tub for a few minutes but that water was HOT!!!

Once we got back to the room and all got our pj's on, we realized we were all a little hungry... I can never eat before traveling, so this was new for me... I am normally throwing up by this point... :sick: The kids were bouncing off the walls, so we decided to head to Papa's Pizza since they have a huge indoor playland and they are open until midnight...

Ellie Mae took us right to it, and we order salad bars and bread sticks... The kids took off and played, they were the only 2 in there... I guess we are the only bad parents who had their kids out after 10p on a school night... :confused3

Food was good, just enough to hold us over until morning, and the kids wore themselves out enough that they fell asleep after getting back into their pj's and watching cartoons for just a few minutes...

Our wake up call was set for 3am... My cell phone was set for 2:45am and Terry's cell phone was set for 3:10... We were not going to over sleep! Or were we??? :eek:

Next up: How long is this flight???? Seriously....

Funny, you set alarms! I do the same thing. I also have this internal fear that I won't hear the alarm. So I get up every hour or so and look at the clock.....don't get much sleep the night before any trip.:confused3

I love your little vacation before the vacation.:thumbsup2

Hey guys! I'm so excited to de-lurk and join in the fun! I read your entire pre-trip (yes, ALL of it) before we left for our vacation (North Carolina, not WDW) but I didn't get a chance to post before we left!

Can't wait to read more and see your pics!

I do the same thing... It's very annoying actually! But I guess it means I am never pulling a "Home Alone"... :rotfl:

Welcome aboard! Wow, you read the whole PTR!!! That is impressive...

The next trip update will have pics, for some reason we didn't take any pictures this day at all... And I think there are so many that we are going to have to do chapters on each day... :eek:

Okay, for those of you that read the PTR, you know my brother recently left for Aghanistan...

Well, I thought I would update on him real quick...

I finally got to talk to him on Wednesday for the first time... It's always been my Mom or Dad that has heard from him, so this was awesome... :)

He was on his 1st day off in 23 days! Yikes... He is working 14 hour days and is never sure as to when he will get a day off...

He sounds really good... Has gotten our packages and is a lot more comfortable with the pillows and blankets that were sent out... He is sharing all the gum, cookies, chapstick, beef jerky and candy that Mom and I are sending...

His birthday is next week so Terry and I bought him a new PSP game since that is the only game system he has over there... Tailor and I will bake a bunch of cookies and brownies and package them up and ship them by the end of the week so he has them...

He said the one thing he can't do that he wants to be able to do is watch the new episodes of Heroes and House... Terry is working on that one...

I miss him like crazy but it makes me feel so much better to be able to hear his voice...

Yay:cool1::cool1:

I'm glad YOU got to talk with your bro!

Your family is a GREAT support system for him! :hug:

I'm soooo glad you were able to speak with your brother!! :cool1: I'm sure that made you feel a little better :hug:

Our photopass cd just arrived!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

:woohoo::dance3::woohoo:
Can't wait to see the pictures!

First you lie to your children and then you keep them out till 10 on a school night!:scared1: tsk, tsk

:laughing:

I can never sleep the night before a trip because I'm too busy checking the clock to make sure I don't over sleep.

I'm glad you got to hear from your brother. I've thought of him every time I hear about Afganistan on the news.

Okay everyone... I just got home from work and I am on my weekend again... I have 3 days off, and I promise we will get at least day 1 posted very soon.... I keep saying I am going to do it, and then something comes up... Stay tuned!

YAY photopass cd!! I loved the "lying to the children" :lmao:. Sounds like a cute time. I can't wait to read more!

Yay!! You're back! :) Can't wait to see the photos and read about all the antics!

hahaha...i totally named my Garmin too... Her name is Runaround Sue. :)

And so glad you got to hear from your brother! My friend complained about not watching Heroes and Lost so at the time I had a Tivo with a DVD burner so i would burn him the episodes once a week and mail them off to him. He said it was worth the delay :)
