OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, I just came back (was there until 08/20 at ASM) and wow, what a great vacation!!!

Aaaah, okay, let me tell you. Aside from the sticky, HUMID, weather, everything was great!

Sunday -08/13 - We arrive at ASM around 8am-ish and proceed to pre-check in. They give us our key cards while our 4 & 6 year olds watch the big screen in the lobby. Genius :thumbsup2 . We head off to Blizzard Beach and enjoy the day on the slides. I'm sad I did'nt get to go on Summit Plummet, but the kids enjoyed the little Ski Patrol and Tikes Peak. I have to say there were some rude & rowdy pre-teen kids on the Ski Patrol iceberg training part:mad:. They should have a lifeguard at both ends to make sure the bigger kids don't push the little ones off the iceberg. Myself, along with other parents kept trying to tell them one at a time, but they didn't listen and I had to pull my daughter off (to her protest) before one of them pushed her off b/c then I would've kicked their butts and had to deal with their parents. The storm slides were good and so was the family raft. We pretty much had a pretty good day there. Aside from the woman showing way too much in the bikinis (who wears bikinis to a water park?? :confused3 ), it was pretty decent.

On I go; we had a 7:15 reservation for Hoop De Doo so we headed back, got our room #, unpacked, rested, showered and dressed for that and we were on the bus to MK by 6 PM. We just missed the ferry to WL but a next one came pretty fast and we were able to get seats on the open part. The line to check-in was long and there were smokers on the line (next time, please step off the line so everyone doesn't have to be offended by your cigarette smoke, including my children!!), but it was good. It started to rain but we took our picture anyway. Once we got inside, we had a great table and oh boy, everything else was GOOD!! The waiter went out of his way to get my finicky kids some mac & cheese :goodvibes and the fried chicken was better than Lady & Sons in Savannah, GA!!! Mmm, mmm :woohoo: . We really enjoyed the meal and the show! The characters were really great and they kept the kids entertained with their singing and silliness.

When the show was over, we again missed the ferry, but what a treat b/c we were able to see the whole Electrial Water Parade!!! Oh, it was sooo pretty and the American finale was soo great!! :yay:

So, the night's over and we head back to ASM to get ready for tomorrow.

Monday - 08/14 - We have an 8AM breakfast at Breakfastosaurus and Pal Mickey is with us!!! Let me say, he's cumbersome to carry around, but he does give some good info. You just have to make sure his nose is always pointing forward. I digress...This breakfast was great. The food was good and I'm about to go OT again...eat big in the AM's and you really wont' feel hungry as you walk the parks all day. If it's hot, all you'll want is water anyway. The character breakfasts are good for big, hearty meals to last you until dinnertime. Okay, I'm back. We saw Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto at the breakfast and they all spent a good amount of time with the kids and we got some really nice pictures. There was a group of Japanese woman sitting next to us and they were nice enough to take a picture of me and my family with the Mickey. They also taught me how to say I Love You in Japanese. So, "Duomo Arigatou"!!!

We spent the early part of the day in AK, our first destination was It's Tough to Be a Bug. This was really cool, especially when the roaches exit under your seat. We were able to see the safari which was good, the jungle trek which was okay, and the river rapids which soaked my husband and son. :p
I wanted to get on Everest but FP's were gone and the line was too long so we left AK to get ready for MGM. We went to Mama Melrose's for the Fantasmic Dinner Package (did I mention we were on the FREE DDP?). This Fantasmic thing was great..not only was the food at MM's good (I had the spaghetti fra diavolo, yum), we got Priority Seating for the show. We arrived at the secret entrance (given to people who got the FDP) and showed up around 6:50. The stadium had a roped off section to the right of the stadium for us. It was nice until people showed up at 5 to 9Pm and complained about why they couldn't get a good seat :furious: and then made my family sit so tightly together so they could see. I had to put my daughter on my lap and my son on my husband's because all the shifting had their views blocked. Next time people, show up at least 45min b4 the show starts even with Priority Seating so you don't inconvenience other people. Fantasmic more than made up for the headache. OMG, that show was like nothing I've ever seen before, it made me laugh, it made me tear up and the end when Mickey triumphs and goodness wins was soo gooooood. I found it online for anyone who wants to view it. It's great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdNDs7eB7yw

Tuesday - 08/15- Breakfast at Cape May in the Y&BC. We had to drive b/c the front desk said it would be a while before we got there so we took our car & had another fantastic breakfast with the characters. This time we were treated to Minnie and Chip. We left our car and took the boat to EPCOT. I'm so happy we didn't get towed... Epcot was good but it was hot and the kids were getting cranky so we ran through the World Showcase and in Future World, we did Test Track (great), Soarin (FANTASTIC), Turtle Talk w/Crush (parents, please refrain your children from asking Crush if he's stupid or if turtles have little, dumb brains, I would've smacked my kids if they did that. LONG, LONG LINE. Have one parent do the Kidcot thing while the other waits, it worked for us) and Innoventions. This night we ate at the ASM food court which was good though I cracked my tooth on the chicken tenders (hard).

Wednesday - 08/16 - 8:05 bkfst at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. What a great breakfast. Oh, I saw one mom sticking some bananas in her bag and thought, not a bad idea so I quietly followed suit and like I said, not a bad idea. We got some really great pics from this breakfast. Today we were FP pioneers, we got a FP for Splash Mountain and went to Pirates, Cinderallabration (sooo good, I teared up) &Aladdin's Carpets in between, then before we went on Splash, we got a FP for Thunder Mountain. We go on Splash, find some characters for pics, go to the Tiki Room and then head to Thunder Mountain. We were doing sooo good. Afterwards, my husband ran to Tommorowland, got FP's for Buzz Lightyear and we go to the Country Bears and take some pics with Woody & Jesse. Then we head to Tomorrowland and we can get another FP by this time so we grab one for Stitch and then go on Buzz. After Buzz we hit the Carousel of Progress, which got stuck by the end and my husband thought we'd be trapped in :rotfl: . I was so tired onteh C of P that I fell asleep (nice nap place for the afternoon). So, on to some more character greetings and then Stitch. After all this, we were tired so we did some shopping and then headed back without seeing the parade or fireworks. Oh well, it's something to do for next time. When we got back to the room, the maid left the kids' Donald and Daisy watching old Disney cartoons (channel 96) with the remote in Donald's hand. Thank you Luciana!! We took a picture!!

Thursday - 08/17 - O'Hana Bkfst at the Polynesian. My personal favorite. I'm a huge Stitch fan so I loved this one. My husband liked the way they serve you family style at the table and the kids loved the Hawaiian Roller Coaster Cha Cha around the room. Today is a slow day and we go to Downtown Disney and spend lots of money (yay).

Friday - 08/18 - Today we headed to Typhoon Lagoon and the first place we headed was to the shark reef. SOOOO COOOOL. :cool1: . Once my 4 y/o son got in the 65 degree water, he opted out so my 6 y/o daughter and I did this one twice. This was amazing, I've never been snorkeling before and the stingrays came right up to me. The water is cold, but you get used to it. My husband said the lifeguard in the reef must have some shrinkage. LOL. Afterwards we headed to the slides and Humonga Cowabunga (we switched places to watch the kids) and then the wave pool. Let me tell you this, it is hysterical to hear everyone scream the minute the wave pops up. We had soooo much fun here. The kids had on safety vests and I know I let go of my daughter a few times but she swam right along with the wave and my son did too and they didn't want to leave. I think we were in there for an hour. I have to say this, I saw a woman in the wave pool and I swear she had like Double M's and she had this teeny tiny top on and I couldn't look away b/c I was waiting for a wave to come along and pop them suckers out, but she held on so kudo's to her :thumbsup2 :lmao: . Afterwards, we went to Winter Summerland to go play mini golf. It was sooo hot by this time and the sun was hiding behind the clouds but the humidity drenched us. The course was nice, but stupid me thought the price was included with the water park ticket extra, but not. So check twice people b/c for 2 adults and 2 children it costed about $40 to play. There was a young girl there with half her butt cheeks sticking out of her shorts (my mother would've have kicked my behind if I even dared to come out like that, nonetheless, where young children would be!!!), and she kept positioning herself so that when she leaned over to take a shot, her butt was facing my husband. My husband laughed about it, but if I was that girl's mom, oooh, she'd have no hair on her head. As a matter of fact, I have to go OT again, there were alot of young girls (older teens, young 20's) there that were staring at my husband. Yes ladies, the man is seriously good looking, but do you not notice he's with his good looking wife and their exceptionally good looking kids? No Respect!!! Okay, thank you for letting me vent. Well Friday night my husband and I had Sue from Fairy Godmothers come to watch the kids and we went off to Epcot. I collected all of the stamps and mask things at the Kidcot stops for them in the World Showcase and my husband and I did all that AND made it to Mexico on time for our dinner. We had a nice romantic dinner and then passed out on the busride back to the hotel. LOL

Saturday - 08/19 - Early morning to MGM, first thing we saw was the Tower. Both kids were able to get on and I think I scarred them for the day. :guilty:
We had a character lunch at H&V with Jojo and Goliath and Leo & June. Nice lunch set up. Did a few things afterwards and then decided to go look at the DVC. They picked us up from the parks and drove us to Saratoga Springs. They had a supervised play area for the kids with juice and cookies and we sat down for about 2 hours chit chatting with one of the reps. She thoroughly explained everything to us (thanks Jenna) and told us lots of funny stories. After her spiel, we very interested and take a look at the rooms. Very nice. They give us 4 FP's with 3 immediate tickets (you stick the card in the machine and you ride immediately) to make up for the time we spent with them) They drop us off back at the hotel and we head to dinner and then bed.

Sunday- -8/20 - Last day

We pack and drive our car to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey. My son loved the monorail coming into the hotel. Breakfast was good, but I think we were all just stuffed from eating these huge meals every morning. Afterwards, the monorail conductor let me son and kids ride up front and they all got co-pilot monorail licenses. Thank you conductor b/c that just made my son smile soooo much. We only went to MK for mickey ears, but also went to get my son a haircut at Harmony. Michal did a great job so thank you. We then headed to AK to do Expedition Everest with our FP's. When we got there at 10:45 they were all gone. I went to a CM and explained the time we spent at DVC and how we needed to check-out this morning and he graciously wrote me a ticket to get on the ride. My son couldn't go on, so again, it's me and my daughter. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be but it was good. Then we started walking around, ate lunch and just left to go home. I think the kids were Disneyed out by then so it was okay.

All in all I had a WONDERFUL trip. I can't wait to go back. I'm already having Disney withdrawal but I'm glad to be home.

Thank you Disney for giving us such wonderful memories....!!!

Great TR! Thanks for sharing!

I am glad to see you did so many character meals. We have a lot planned too. Do you think that was a good way to go with younger kids? Ours will be 2.5 and 4.5 when we go in December.

Also, how do you think the H&V meal was at MGM? We have an ADR for it for lunch. My kids watch Einsteins and JoJo quite a bit and think they would enjoy seeing them. I am interested in the character interaction and food, especially what they offered for the kids to eat.

Thanks!

The character meals were great!!! I think this was the perfect age for them and they really loved having pictures taken with them, etc. Our trick to get them to eat everything was to tell them the characters wouldn't come by unless they ate and it always worked. They really don't watch JoJo and Einsteins but they liked it anyway so I'm sure you're kids will be thrilled!!!

Sounds like you all had a fabulous time! Thanks for the report :thumbsup2 .

Thank you for the report. I just wanted to ask you about Fairy Godmothers. How did it work? What was the cost? Did you feel comfortable leaving your kids with her?

Thanks again.
