Do you have a pair? Do you have a pair of "regular" crocs...aka beaches, cayman, etc? How do the two compare? Are they just as comfortable? Who has the best shipping prices? I really, really want a pair of the navy and khaki ones, but I'm afraid they won't be as comfortable as my "old faithfuls." Please tell me they are, and you love them. Otherwise, I'm going to order my second pair of beaches in Butter. Everyone laughs at my bright yellow ones now. The kids, (teenagers) are mortified when I wear them in public. In fact, when I wore them to Disney last year, all the security guards at AKL were laughing when I got there. One of them told me that I stole Donald Duck's shoes. :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just bumping this up! I'm curious too. I've worn Croc Beach, Croc Niles, and the Croc Aspens to WDW. The Beach and the Aspens were OK, but the Niles gave me blisters.

I've yet to find anything to beat my Teva mush flip flops for comfort and wonder how the Croc Athens might compare. I've read where the Athens have a very hard toe thingy (whereas the Teva Mush have a very soft cloth toe thingy).

I just wore my new Athens every day of our 10 day Universal/Disney vacation and they were awesome! My feet felt great everyday. I had my good running shoes with me just in case but every morning I chose the Athens. I have a pair of the Beach Crocs too and I have to say the Athens are my new favs because they look better. And the Beach ones did give me a hot spot across the top of my foot when I wore them at Disney. I would recommend the Athens to anyone who likes flip-flops, some people don't like anything between their toes.

I have both the Athens and the Beach Crocs and I have to say that I think the Athens have a little more cushion to them. Having said that however, the toe post does take a bit getting used to but don't all flip flops when you first start wearing them? I wear flip flops every summer and I always have to re-develop my toes to get used to the post, at first they are a bit sore but then you develop blisters and it goes away. I love the Athens and they look so much better than the others!

I just bought my first pair of Crocs, athens flip flops. I have never worn Crocs before because they are so ugly. But I decided to try these and they are so comfortable and cushiony. I wear them all day. I might actually try the beach for our WDW trip. Do your feet sweat in them? If so I'll just get another pair of Athens.

I would love to try the Athens...they are so much cuter than the Beach. I have a pair of the Niles and I also get blisters from the sides. I'm going to try the dryer then wear with socks trick and hopefully that will help. But I want another pair for our trip and I'm debating Beach or Athens...

I thought the Athens felt better but they did not fit me properly so my mom has them now. The were too big across the top of my foot and would not stay on!

I've had the athens for a couple of months nows and I don't fine them a comfy as my
Beach ones that I wear at work for 12 hours. I just can't seem to wear them for more than 5 hours or so walking without my legs starting to bother me. You do have to get use to the stem between the toes but it didn't take long.
I will be taking them to WDW next week to try them out with my Beach's as a backup in case they don't work out.

I love Teva Mush but purchased Athens recently. They are very well cushioned. So far, I like them. I think if you wear flip flops you adjust to the toe post.

I just ordered the Nile crocs from the croc. website. I thought they looked better than my beaches and my nicely pedicured toes could breath better. My beaches are SOOOOOOOOOO comfy I wear them always and I'm hoping the Niles are just as good. I was planning on taking them in May for our trip so I hope to get them soon and break them in.....WHat was the dryer and sock thing I read someone talking about?????
Thanks....
p.s shipping to Canada was only 9.95 so I thought that was a deal as no one around me sells anything other than the beachescaymans.
Denise 36 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

I bought my Athens at www.extremefootwear.com for $29.99, no tax, no shipping. I have them in baby blue/pearl. VERY comfortable. My neighbor's 19-year-old daughter saw me wearing them and thought they were "cool," and just bought a pair for herself. As a SAHM, it's super cool to be told you're cool!

That is true, they are made for people with long toes. I have short toes so I have alot of space at the top. I got used to it, though they look a little funny becuase I have small feet & toes.

They don't! I know it's amazing, but they really don't! The air holes and the nubs on the bottom keep air circulating.

I just have to have a pair of Athens now. I ADORE flipflops. I live in a beach town, so we are pretty much wearing flip flops all year long around here...lol.

How's the arch in the Athens?

Another plug for Extreme Footwear. The shipping is free, there's no tax and they're WAY quicker to ship than if you buy from Crocs website. It's basically cheaper for you to buy them online from E.F. than to go to a store locally and have to pay tax.

I have Beach, Athens and Nile. Beach are my favorites for comfort. I like the Niles but I don't think I could wear them for LOTS of walking - I wore Beach to WDW every single day and never had a blister. The Niles are definitely cushiony, which is great. But I think I'm just not the type to wear flip flops all the time, so maybe that is why. I haven't had any problems w/ the Nile, but they do seem to rub my feet in places (along the sides) moreso than the Beach. :)

They are out of the ones I wanted! The navy and khaki. I hope they get them in soon. :sad2:

I have probably 10-12 pairs of closed toe Crocs in various styles and colors. Absolutely love them. Most comfortable shoes I've ever worn... even when compared to Birkenstocks. It's a no brainer why health care workers or anyone who works on their feet all day long love them.

Just bought a pair of Athens last week and wore them most of the weekend with lots of walking around Kansas City. They're comfortable, but not nearly so like the closed toe styles. Like all Crocs they run big in size, so anyone wearing a half size will definitely want to size down. Still, they seem a bit "clunky" and fit rather loose. The rubber toe strap tended to rub and irritate, much like an eraser, between my toes after an hour or two of wear. Also, the cushioning below the toes and front of the foot is fairly thin which caused this area of my feet to start hurting after a few hours.

In summary... They're lightweight like you'd expect from Crocs and they look really cool, but they're far from being the most comfortable flip flops ever made. When you want comfort in a thong sandal, Tevas are almost impossible to beat...

I just got home from Dick's Sporting Goods up the street, which is where I got my new Athens. They didn't have my size in the color I wanted (chocolate/lt. blue) so I got black. The hardest thing was figuring out the size. The thong between the toes is kinda bothering me, but then again my other flip flops were pretty well broken in. The other thing that is causing me a bit of panic is the occasional foot *fart* that I get when walking. Anyone else have this problem?

I like the look of the Niles, but I've read the previous posters have problems with blisters. So now what? I just don't like the looks of the other closed toes. Which is the most slim looking?

I got a pair for DH and myself. He wore his at WDW and complained of his feet hurting him. So that night I put mine on and wore them and he was right, my feet hurt. They are better than regular flip flops, but don't compare to beach/caymen...of which I have 9 pairs. :thumbsup2 I'll only be wearing my "ugly" ones from now on. I'll save my athens for the beach.

I wore my Athens on our trip to WDW and really loved them. I also have Nile and Beach Crocs and like the Athens better.
