If you had to do one of the following two to make your plan work, which would it be? Would you:

Hit the Disney Studios on an EMH night

OR

Hit Epcot on a Friday night during the Food and Wine Festival?

The purpose of being in either park at night would be to see the firework shows. We haven't done Fantasmic in a long time, and we always like to see Illuminations multiple times.

Given that I don't waste my time at DHS, EPCOT will always be my choice.

Based on the fact that you said that your priority at DHS would be Fantasmic (and that you haven't seen it in a long time), I would do that.

I voted option B, but thats because we just don't do studios. We would love Epcot anytime.

If that means that you'll already be seeing Illuminations on a different night, then the answer is obvious. Even if there were no crowds, it makes more sense to see two different shows than the same show twice.

Beyond that, pick whichever one has the better dining deal available, either a dining package for Fantasmic or the Illuminations dessert party.

Same here. With all the closed attractions at DHS now, I just don;t see going back until they open the new things that will replace them. Last trip we did a 2nd day at the MK rather than a first day at DHS. And if we had more days, a 2nd day at epcot and a 2nd day at universal would have been chosen over a 1st day at DHS. If it had been warmer, a water park day would have come in ahead of DHS too.

Unless you have a Fantasmic dining package booked or a fp for Fantasmic, I would choose Epcot.

Epcot gets crazy crowded usually at night on Fridays with wine & dine, around World Showcase mostly of course, I would avoid it If I had younger kids with me for sure (as there's drunks sometimes). I would do Studios late night personally! Or if you want illuminations again then I would stick to Future World and avoid World showcase except at the entrance to it.

Hahahah! I read the subject and thought this post was going to be about politics.... I was thinking, "uh oh, is the member new?" so I opened it to look. :rotfl2:

Anyhow, to answer your question - both options could be bad, but both could work as well. One thing about guests at the Food & Wine Festival is they tend to hang out in the countries. If you plan to hang in the countries or see Illuminations, I would expect ridiculous crowds. If you plan to hang out in Future World, it will be doable.

If you do not want to have to be limited to the front of EPCOT, your have more roaming room in Disney Studios.

If it were me, I would go to Magic Kingdom. LOL
