Less than a month to go! Any pre-trip tips?

Hi all,

We're off to Disneyland on the 29 Nov and staying until 5 Dec. We're flying from the UK so two days will be for travel and we have a 5 day park hopper purchased for the days we're there

What tips do you have for getting ready to go?

I'm slightly worried about what clothes we should take as I've heard weather can be pretty unpredictable in California this time of year?

I'll be there for my 21st birthday so I'm wondering what restaurants would be good for a birthday celebration in your experiences?

When you get to your resort ask for a birthday button and wear it.If its your first time ask for a first time visitor button.Most of the time you will get special privlages.We were able to get fastpasses and private tours when we wore ours.As far as restraunts,sorry we do Disney World due to the fact its only few hours away so i wouldnt be able to help you there!Have fun mate!

Oh exciting, another uK visitor (I am Feb).

I have on my planning list

Get ESTA
Organise transfers to/from LAX
Book any restaurants that i really want to attend. Or consider the dinner packages or desert parties to get better views of the evening shows.
Do you want to do Universal Studios? look into a shuttle and entrance tour for that (I assume no car hired?)
Look at busy day guides and decide which park to do which days.

Dress with light layers like a tee and sweater so you can change if you need to. Are you staying on property? If so you can always go change if need be. I like to wear capris with a tee and hoodie then take off the hoodie around 10-11 then I seem to need it again at night sometimes.

As for meals my favorites are Fiddler Fifer at California Adventure and Breakfast cinnamon roll French toast at River belle for breakfast!

Since you'll be celebrating your 21st birthday, you might want to opt for a restaurant that serves alcohol! My choice would be Jazz Kitchen, Steakhouse 55, Napa Rose, or Carthay Circle. Those can be pricey and I'm not sure what your budget allows. I also love Blue Bayou but you can't get an adult beverage there; you could always go to Napa Rose or Carthay Circle lounge later, though. I love to sit by the fireplace at NR lounge and have dessert, too!

Definitely dress in layers. I live in jeans, and then a t-shirt, light sweater, and I love my puffy vest. I keep a hat and gloves and scarves (lightweight infinity style) in my bag too.

And yes to the birthday button! The other people in your party can get "I'm celebrating!" buttons.

OMG!! I can't believe I forgot Trader Sam's!! Yes, you must go there at least once during your trip. They actually have really good food, too

You were able to get special privileges? I never have wearing those buttons. I guess I ain't cute enough!
