Less than 30 days, Dance with me! And help me not feel bad

Wow I was going to post the 30 day mark, but I missed it and now I'm at only 24 days until we leave. I'll be at POFQ from May 14-21st. I'm a little worried though, I'm going with just my Mom for my 32nd and an early 70th Birthday for her, and I'm leaving my DH and two little girls ages 3 & 4 for the first time. We are going cause all my life (my parents were divorced when I was 3) just my Mom and I went to Disney every year so we are going for old times sake just the two of us. Please help me not feel so bad about leaving DH, and 2 DDs behind. However it isn't like they haven't been there. The 4 year old has been 6 times and the 3 year old 5 and they are going back for 10days Dec. 10-20th 2005, again for 10 days April 23rd 2006, and again for 10days Thanksgiving day 2006 as we have annual passes. But I've never left the girls before.

The relationship you have with your mother is wonderful. The fact that you are making this special trip demonstrates that, and that in turn will help your own children understand the importance of that bond. This is a wonderful thing you are doing. And now we dance...

I know how you feel. My husband and I went on a cruise last month for our 10 year anniversary. This was also the first time ever leaving the kids (except for 1 night about 2 years ago). They are 6 and almost 4. It was really hard for me to do. We did have a great time and once you are there you are so into what you are doing that you forget all about it until you call home (which I did 3 times). Kids were just fine with my parents (and spoiled) but it was still hard for me to do. Next time they're coming with. At least they are home with your husband - so go and have a great time.
