lesbians need not apply

This is an interesting thread & an interesting site. Sounds like lots of people have a chip on their shoulders, hmmmm, interesting .....

and you chose this thread to post your very first post.......Hmmmm, interesting.

No I have said that many many times in the past.

For those Christian gays that want to be married, they would then need to find themselves a christian church that would marry them. In fact such churches already exist and perform such cerimonies already.

Yeah, I know there's churches like that.

Since we're sharing personal opinions, mine is I just don't think any gays should be
married in a church of any kind, but I'm tryin' to learn tolerance for those folks. :)

Aren't there states that already have civil union laws? I'd like to know how it's working out if there are.

Yes, but the problem is the federal codes don't recogize them. Good for state stuff, but meaninless on federal laws.

What needs to be done is to pass something that removes the term marriage from all federal code and subsitutes civil unions, those with existing marriages are grandfathered in as having a civil union.

The poster stated that hanging a flag tells the world you are gay and being gay at work is wrong. I was just wondering the difference.

THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS POSTER SAID!!!

this poster said that, if the 5' x 4' rainbow flag is the first thing people see, it is the first thing they know about said person...that the person is homosexual. and it is obviously the first thing the flag-hanger wants people to know, otherwise why not a smaller flag inside the office?

THIS POSTER NEVER SAID "BEING GAY AT WORK IS WRONG"!

Okay, since I have to get ready to leave for WDW and this thread has, of course, become absurd....I'm bowing out to go finishing packing. Did you hear that Disney is declaring all the value resorts as gay friendly hotels for gay families? Discuss among yourselves.

You tell me darlin'.

What makes you heterosexual?

(can't tell you on these boards.)

Oh. My. God.

Are you serious?

yes. i. am. serious.

i am attracted to members of the opposite sex. homosexuals are attracted to people of the same sex.

aside from that, i don't see any difference. do you? is there more?

Really?
i don't know if you CAN be, but i would prefer that you COULDN'T be.

look...i'm not saying don't be homosexual and don't expect equal treatment under the law. that shouldn't be in question.

i'm saying that if the first thing somebody knows about a person is that they're homosexual, before anybody has ever even met that person, because they've hung a 4' x 5' rainbow flag in their office window, that person is focusing on the wrong thing at work...homosexuality.

focus on work at work.

focusing on the "wrong " thing at work Homosexuality ....

That is exactly how I read it. It is ok to be stright at work and let people know it (pictures, wedding rings etc) but not ok to be gay.

I guess you'll never want to come to my church :lmao:

thanks. I didn't know how much influence a POA had. I know it will work as far as medical and legal decisions are concerned.

again i'm in california where things MAY be a little bit better for homosexuals, but i understand that in some other states, despite paperwork, same-sex partners have been denied the right to even visit in the hospital ("family" only), and children of same-sex partners were also prevented from visiting. lots of other things like that. i imagine it would mean going on vacations with entire files full of legal documents, without being able to count on the hospitals where you were acknowledging them.

i am not homosexual, but it would sicken me to prevent even somebody's good friend from visiting them in the hospital...it is unfair to the patient and unfair to the friends. to deny visitation of a legal partner (regardless of the words...civil union, marriage, whatever) is heinous in my opinion. for crying out loud, part of healing includes the emotional part of healing. ya need to feel the love!

Nope, I would define someone as homosexual if they would choose a person of the same sex as their life partner ie. that is who they would fall in love with. Sex is a bonus in a relationship, no matter what your orientation, and not something that is always possible.

k. interesting perspective. but the word is homosexual, which implies a hormonal emphasis.
