Length of AAA membership?

Am budgeting for a trip in early Dec. 2009 (I know it seems sooo far away but I have to do my budget now so we can afford to go!) and have a question about AAA...

How long is your AAA memebership good for, 1 year?

I am planning on booking room only in Aug. 2008 when the 2009 rates come out and I'm thinking about purchasing an AAA membership as an option in case I can't find any discounts. This way I figure if a better discount comes along I'll still have the AAA membership for my car!

So, would I buy AAA in January of 2009 so it's still good in Dec. 2009?

AAA is a yearly membership. If you were to join today (March 25 2008) your membership would be valid until March 31 2009.
