length limit ?

bsblady01,

I decorated heavy last year and had the decorations police come by for an inspection. I was told:

No lights on the trees (can't wrap the tree trunks in lights)
No lights on the fences (the wooden rail fences, even if they are on your site)
No more than halfway to your neighbor's site

Denise gave you a good link for the official rules, but these were the specific ones I was found in violation with (though the guy was really nice about it)
thankyou

Most of the Premium sites will probably fit your rig and some of the Preferred/Full. Regardless, the Fort will take some huge RVs somewhere. The key is specifying how long and/or wide your trailer is on your reservation. The CMs take that into consideration when assigning sites.

The bigger issue with some of the Preferred and Full loops is getting through the loop and backed into your site. I towed 44 and 48 ft trailers with my race team. You need a lot of room on the street to maneuver into a spot. Trees, trash bins, other cars and sometimes just the angle of the road and site make the longer rigs tough to park. Premium loops/sites generally have more room to get around.

Never quite thought about it before. Are the roads in the Premium Loops wider (to accommodate the angles needed for the longer trailers)? The first time we were camping at the Fort, we reserved Premium. Long story short, we got a "Preferred" site. It was a challenge (to say the least) to get our camper in the spot although it's only a 27' TT (with another about 2 - 3 feet of hitch). Of course it was dark (about 7:30 PM) and the adjoining sites seemed to have more than the "requisite" number of vehicles as well as garbage cans in the way.

yes we get snow in new York in December
Snow in December.... Ha! We have had it on Halloween in the past. (ok when I was a kid) and I am only in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Lately though the winters have been more cold then snowy here.

You would then be entertained watching John or I get our trailers into some of the sites. But it can be done as I have shoe horned mine into a couple sites there already. It is tight but some patience is helpful, plus I am not shy to knock on doors to ask if vehicles are too close to the road to allow for an easy back into the site.
