LendingTree.com - anyone used them before?

Well, we finally found the house of our dreams. Keeping our fingers crossed that our offer is accepted by the owner. Has anyone used LendingTree for their financing before? I've been looking on the internet and they keep popping up. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and if it was a good or bad experience. TIA!

I used them the last time we re-financed. Costco has a referral program with them. I got a good rate and a Costco gift card too.

I used them several years ago for a refinance. It worked out well, I found a good, reputable company and I was very pleased.

Last year, I thought about refinancing again. I went through Lending Tree.com again. This time I got another set of brokers and I found it very difficult. All the companies seemed kind of "shady", hidden costs, not good disclosure. Then they started calling me. I had 4 different brokers calling me at work, at home, e-mailing, etc. The pressure got so bad and I didn't have a good feel about it. So I just gave up. Now, this isn't necessarily Lending Tree's fault, but the "luck of the draw" so to speak with the brokers that came up on my query.

So, I have had one great experience with them, and one not-so-great experience.

I am looking for a smaller loan at this time (mainly for unexpected repairs-AC, car, DS's shoe inserts). I went through them and wasn't pleased.

I also looked into American General, I am going to be returning their call here shortly, to see if they can help me.

But I want to check on them a bit more before calling them.

I did once for a car purchase. Our luck wasn't great because we only got one good offer and one bad one plus two companies that never responded to my messages. I've heard that others have used them successfully though.

Remember that you'll probably get several credit report inquiries when you use them. Some people are so surprised when that happens.
