That's the majority of my son's Christmas list! Are there any sales out there?

How "budget" do you want to go? You can buy just about any lego piece on eBay, as well as directions on how to build every previous lego kit using the pieces you already have. In fact, there are many sites out there that have free directions available to download. Just be sure you actually have the particular pieces the directions call for -- can be very frustrating to start a project only to find you don't have enough or the right ones.

If you have a Kmart around, they will be having a sale, "Buy two, get one free on Legos. You may want to check the Black Friday sites as I am not sure if the sale is Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday.

Sign up for a borders reward card. They sell Lego and send out emails for 30 or 40% off one item monthly.

Plus select items are also on sale. Some of items are not available for purchase before the sale starts Friday. Most of the items are Lego City.

Also there is another sale where if you buy the green grocer, the VW Bug, the Lego Single Drum Roller and one other items (I can't remember what it is right now, sorry) you get 15% off two or more and 25% off three or more of the items. The discount applies automatically to the items when they are added to the cart. This sale is valid thru Christmas Eve and can be combined with the other offers. It is a semi unadvertised sale. I got a loose postcard in the catalog that comes in mail about it - it was not noted anywhere else in the catalog nor on the website.

Target has some of the big sets for around $50 off on Black Friday - they are approx $40 off.

Walmart doesn't price match on buy 1 get 1 or buy 2 get 1 free items...not sure about TRU though.

Me too (and they do still sell them!!!). But watching DS with his sets of Star Wars things...gotta admit it's pretty cool.

And they tend to end up in bins anyway (we have bins for each color), where he then forgets the instructions and makes his OWN ship, so it's a nice combo.

I just bought the mid-size Millenium Falcon at Wal Mart today. I thought it was regular price, $39.99, but it rang up on sale for $20!! I didn't have time to check on any of the other sets to see if they were unadvertised sales, but I'm going back later to find out!!

Target and TRU are both offering pretty good deals on the Indiana Jones and Star Wars sets tomorrow. Each store 40-50% on select sets.
