I am not entirely sure if this is the correct area to post this review...
Our family of four went to the new Legoland park just over one week ago. I have heard mixed reviews of this park since opening and after visiting the park decided I had to write a review.
We loved it! Our two kids are huge lego fans, but I think any child who likes amusement parks and does not play with lego still would. The park is very clean and well laid out. We heard many comments from some people while in the park that they only paid $5 for their promo tickets and would be angry if they had paid full price. I don't get it. If you look at the price of Legoland Admission to say Disneyworld or Universal Studios I can see there needs to be a change on Legolands part - as in price reduction. There are no huge thrill rides - stick to Universal for that as well as big 3 & 4D shows. Legoland should lower their price to some degree but less than $5, seriously?
The park clearly states that it is geared towards children age 2-12. If you are a family not heeding this advice and taking teenagers I can see you being upset. I think 5-10 is the ideal age in my opinion. Our kids are 8 and rode all the rides, by themselves, which they thought was great.
The park staff was very kind, chatty and helpful. The Fire Acadamy Show and Pirates water show were both great and the kids loved them. Enjoyable for adults as well. The lego mini land is just out of this world and worth spending some time in taking it all in and looking at the detail. Amazing.
We ate at a all-you-can-eat pizza/pasta buffet for lunch which was recommended by a staff member. It was reasonably priced and did not disappoint. The gift shops were very nice and had reat products.
Both of our kids enjoyed the Ford driving school and getting their 'license' to cruise around in their lego-mobiles.
There was no hard sell to get you to fork out money to buy a photo from every ride you go on.
Overall, I feel the price they charge for a child's admission is fair, charging the adults more when they may or may not go on many of the rides and are clearly there for the childs enjoyment needs to revised. Paying over $200 or more just to get in the park is going to stop a lot of little ones from enjoying a great park and a day of fun!
We would definitely go again if they kids are still at an appropriate age but I would definitely spend some time looking for a discount.
