Don't know how many of you know this, but LEGOLAND is taking over the old Cypress Gardens!
I think this will be a great add-on to all the Theme Parks here.
To make it budget related, I wonder how much an annual pass will be? Maybe similar to Calif?
This is great news. They said in the article they are going to keep some of the old Cypress Garden's attractions. I'm happy those people will not loose their jobs!
This is a budget buster thread for me. My boys will be so excited of course my bank account will not be. How close is this to Orlando? Between WDW, Legoland, and the new Harry Potter park my kids are never going to want to leave Florida.

We've visited the S. CA location twice ~ 1st time DS & I (he was almost 6) he loved it, most recently was this past July, DD had a great time, DS had an ok time ~ he's still very much into Legos but the rides aren't very exciting IHisO *this coming from a kid who's tired of Disneyland!!
I went to Lego land in Ca last year. My kids are gown now, but I always wanted to see it! I was in Carlsbad for a conference, so it was RIGHT THERE, lol. So, me and DH spent 1/2 day there.
I was stuck by how interactive and educational it tried to be. On many exhibits the kids had to actively participate. Interesting. The rides were all kiddie rides, most for really young kids, some for 8-12 year olds, maybe?
I LOVED seeing all the Lego things on display. Esp the models of US cities, that was so great. Nice to hear this will be available in Orlando in the future. I know the one in CA was building a hotel, not sure if it has opened yet.
Man I remember visiting Cypress Gardens as a child....as well as Weeki Wachee....my son will be so excited to hear that a Lego land will be within visiting distance when we vacation kind of sad that the old parks go by the wayside after so many years though.
It's sad what happened to Cypress Gardens. But I'm very happy about everything they're keeping. The Gardens, Splash Island, and the water ski show. I only went there once recently, and I think the gardens are amazing. The drive isn't that bad, heck there's quite a few cast members that live out that way and drive it every day.
