Legoland California First Visit Advice

Hello!

I'm going to Legoland California for the first time with my husband and two kids (3yo and 6yo) over winter break. We are just going for the day and not spending the night. We are visiting my husband's family who live close by.

Please all the advice!

Legoland will be so fun. In our experience-- we're not experts, but we've been 3 times-- the line that gets the longest is for Emmett's couch ride. I actually recommend you don't rope drop this as you can get more done in the morning and then hit this later. The line might drop or it might not, but at least you can do the wait when it matters less rather than in valuable morning time.

I think the best ride to rope drop is probably uni-kitty's disco drop. It's a matter of opinion, but the line is just a line in the sun, it is a slow loader, low-capacity ride that is very visible so it doesn't take much for that line to be unbearably long.

My kids liked ending the day on Driving School. There was no line so they got to ride it 3 or 4 times and then help park the cars for the night. Definitely a core memory for my then 6 year old.

Try to hit the Lego displays in the middle of the park while it is still light out. I can't say whether you'll enjoy this part, but I always felt we didn't leave enough time for this.

What other questions do you have? I assume no water park. Are you doing the aquarium?

No aquarium and no water park.

I was reading about the skip the line (or virtual line??) service and was thinking about getting the medium version. Did you do this? We're going between Xmas and new years so I assume it will be busy. Any advice with it?

Are we allowed to bring food into the park?

Anything you consider must dos for 3-6 yos?

Anything we need to know about strollers? They both don't really need strollers anymore BUT they do need them at WDW so I assume they'll need them here.

We did not use the line skipping service and didn't really feel we needed it, but it might be busier during that time frame.

We brought snack foods in our backpack and enjoyed Everything is Ramen inside the park. Everyone raves about the apple fries, which I like, but don't love.

Everything is pretty much targeted for that age so I don't think there's any specific. My personal favorite is Emmett's.

It's smaller than Disney, but we still used a stroller at that age. Pretty low key, easy stroller parking.

Yeah, definitely less info on Legoland. As a Disney over-planner, it was hard for me not to have a minute by minute plan going in, but in the end we were fine winging it. You'll have a great time.
