We have a 2 year old and an almost 4 yr old. We want to go to Legoland. Should we spend one day or two?

If we don't do 2nd day at LL, we could do Universal--(probably will buy CityPass which includes 1 day USH ticket,) or we could do Knott's, (but that would be more expensive than 2nd day at LL,) or spend one more day at DL (but again more expensive because we'd go to GCH a day earlier probably.)

The itinerary for our trip is: (in order)
-Fly into San Diego, spend rest of the day at SD Zoo
-1 full day at SeaWorld, drive to Legoland hotel
-1 day at Legoland
-Partial day at Legoland then drive to Anaheim to Grand Californian, some time at pool or Downtown Disney
-DL/CA
-DL/CA
-DL/CA
-Fly home from Orange County

Is LL worth two days or is our time/money better spent elsewhere?

Maybe a Mama with kiddos your age will have another opinion, but I think either another day at Sea World or another day at DL. When are you leaving? IF you're looking at a summer trip, DL and DCA will be pretty busy, so the extra day could help you see more. Ditto for Sea World.
Enjoy your trip, whatever you decide.

I think it depends how much your kids love rides. Legoland is great for little ones because pretty much all the rides are for the under 8 set (yes, there are a few big ticket ride, but we went with a 12 and 14 year old and they were bored in comparison to the four 3yo and 5 yo that we also had with us). My two are 3 and 5 and we have gone the past 3 years and always spend 2 days at Legoland because we love it. We stay in Carlsbad, though because we have friends there, so a second day at Sea World is not an option-one day there tires us out too much, we have quit going to the zoo because it is a source of too many meltdowns (too much walking for too little gratification for my 5yo even though my 3yo loves it) and my kids love rides. They will ride anything and everything they are big enough to ride. We can see everything in one day but we ride it all again the second day.

You have a pretty busy itinerary planned. We spent five days in SD last week, flew in Thurs and went to the beach, Legoland Friday, rode the Coaster to Old Town SD Saturday and then had pool time, Sea World Sunday and Lego land Monday again, flew home Tuesday. My kids were exhausted and we had someone's house to eat dinner at every night and room for the kids to all run around and play. So, you might want to consider some beach time on your day between legoland and Anaheim ( it is everywhere in Carlsbad and not hard to find) or just some extra pool time. Legoland a second day is a good choice if you want a second amusement park day (that second day for $15 is a good deal, especially for a partial day) and there is certainly tons there for little ones to do...big play area, big water area etc plus, tons of rides!

We went in June with a 9yr. old and wish we would have had 2 days planned for there.

We won't be going back to California for years and DS will be too old then.

There is so much to do that one day is not enough.

We got there before it opened and stayed till it closed, if you have the chance spend 2 days there.

My DS loves legos so he just went wild there and did not want to leave.

We're going in the first week of October. So off-season for DL an SW. We were at SW Orlando last year, so thought one day there would be fine. My DS3 LOVES rides. DS2 sometimes does, but when he doesn't he is just content watching and hanging out. Oh yeah, and my kids are very used to traveling. They've been to 15 different states and Canada twice. We do theme parks often enough that they are used to long days, and have fun with it. (We slow it down if they don't. But that's very rare. Usually it's ME slowing us down! :rotfl: )

Sounds like we might be fine with a second (partial) day at LL and then some pool time or DTD time. Is the weather at the beginning of October usually good for swimming?

It depends when you're going. If you go in the summer they are open until 8PM, and I think that is plenty of time to do the whole park. On the days they are open from 10am-5pm, it may be a little harder, but I don't think worth the extra day.

Legoland has extremely tight ride height restrictions, and they must be 34" AND accompanied by an adult to go on many of the rides. My son is 2 and is only 32", so he can only go on 4 rides there. I do not think it's worth two days.

Also to note that the Aquarium is a completely different park, and if you want to see that, that will take time as well. Maybe do Legoland the whole first day, the the SeaLife Park for that half of a second?

It's not open yet...only the gift shop and restaurant are open now. I think it is supposed to open in August?
