so my son loves Legos. I am going with him in August and plan on one day shopping. I won't be able to avoid the Lego store but I have a rule about trips in general and that is if I can get it cheaper on Amazon I don't c are where we are I won't buy it. Does anyone know if the Lego store there has anything unique that you can only buy there?

We have been. I can't remember there being any unique sets. But you can build your own mini-figure. We did that.

They sometimes have some of the harder to find sets there.

The first time we went to Downtown Disney and saw the Lego store, my kids were super excited and we bought so much. That's because Lego stores weren't in Canada yet.

After we got the Lego stores, we really don't see anything special or different at the one in Disney Springs that we can get at home.

I don't remember any sets I haven't seen elsewhere, but the Disney Springs store does car races out in front of the store. It's very cool and not to be missed for any lego fan. He'll get to build a car and race against other kids.

No, they don't have 'exclusives', previously my boys saved birthday/Christmas money to spend there because it was quite a bit cheaper than buying it in Canada but with the exchange rates now they won't bother (although they'll still buy something in there instead of a Disney souvenir!)

Thanks! We have three Lego Stores near us so I was just thinking maybe they have something exclusive Disney there

They sell some discontinued sets and have a large selection, but everything can be bought on amazon for cheaper probly. They do though have make your own minifigs where you can mix and match things which is unique to lego stores.

No they don't have any different sets. We even went to legoland and their store didn't have anything different. The Lego store at ds and Lego land both have build a mini figure and it comes with a little plastic case/box to put it in. But no exclusive sets.

The lego store at Disney Springs is a flagship store and is awesome! They do have a HUGE selection, many things that are hard to find at other stores.

Maybe get a mini figure as a souvenir. It's cheap and won't take up a bunch of space. I doubt you can get it cheaper on Amazon, as Lego is rarely discounted much anywhere. I don't remember special sets either. They may have the Disney mini figs though, even though others have them as well.

I have never found Lego less expensive on Amazon than at a Lego store or (better) through Lego's website. The pricing for non-discontinued sets is pretty even.

Plus Lego has the VIP membership that gives you money for every $100 you spend.

I almost always buy directly through lego.com. And I should mention that our livelihood is thanks to Amazon, so I'm not anti-amazon by ANY means. But with Legos unless you get a clueless seller you're not likely to find a better deal. Especially with the membership and with getting lego.com emails that show the special sets you can get with purchase, etc etc.

"Hard to Find" was mentioned...in case that's going by Lego's own wording, in my experience it's utter nonsense. They will literally have "hard to find" in the printed catalog on BRAND NEW sets. They aren't hard to find at all. You just, you know, order it. And they will send the sets to you. It's some sort of weird collector-centric wording to increase interest. It has no basis in reality.

Now once something is discontinued all bets are off. But even then if it's in their current catalog it's not YET discontinued, and is unlikely to actually be hard to find. If it's on their website as orderable, it's not actually hard to find.

That hasn't been my experience at all. The physical store is big (though Anaheim's is bigger), but the selection is about the same as my local store. And even if a store doesn't carry it, if it's in their catalog or website it can be ordered, so it's still not hard to find.

In my experience.

I know about 5 years ago they sold an awesome set of the green Lego serpent model that is in the water outside of the Lego store. If they still carry it, it's an awesome & unique souvenir set to have, it was about $10 if I remember correctly. Maybe someone who has been more recently can tell you if they still sell it?

They also have the "fill your own bucket" wall like the other stores. In my experience, the wall at DS seems larger with more selection than we've seen at our local Lego store. That is what my youngest got the last time we went. He and his Dad spent about 30 minutes looking for some of the pieces he knew he wanted for some projects and then used their engineering skills to get as many pieces as they could into that bucket.

We were there in January - I didn't see it. To be fair, I wasn't actually looking for it as I didn't know it existed, but we looked over everything in the store pretty closely. My son likes to see ALL the options before he chooses, and I just like seeing all the sets :) I love the serpent, so I feel like I would have noticed it. I hope I'm wrong, though!

It used to be sold at the registers basically. It's a small poly bag. I'm sure I bought at least one lol.

I have many buckets of pick a brick as well. Boy can that take a long time lol, they should have a bar in there honestly.

when we were there is dec 14, the lego store had a small lego frame with the serpent model kinda attached/going up the one side of the frame. i think it was about $15?

Look for some of the attraction coupon booklets (we get ours at the Florida border rest stop, but I've seen them in Orlando, too). There are sometimes coupons for that Lego store for 10% off or $5 or $10 off if you spend a certain amount (like $35 or $70).
