I work for Pearson, scoring extended response items from state school testing. It's seasonal (generally Feb-Mar through June), they want a minimum of 20 hours but preferably 30 per week, all on my own schedule. At this point, unless you have skills that would qualify you to score items from SAT/ACT or AP tests, you'd probably be applying for next year. I earn $12-$14/hour, depending on the project (right now I'm scoring a 5th grade reading response from the Illinois state test, and immediately after this I'll do a 4th grade math extended response, not sure what state -- I've done IL, TX and MA). This is my 3rd year doing this, and it's definitely legitimate.
You need a minimum of a BA or BS, and they prefer some teaching experience -- I was a sub for 9 years, but don't have a teaching certificate. You can get more info and apply at
www.flexiblescoring-il.pearson.com. If you decide to apply, please PM me -- I'll give you my name so you can put it in as who referred you. Also, PM me if you want more details. I found out about this from the DISboards, so I'm happy to pass it along!
