Legitimate Work from Home Companies?

What do you do when you are reviewing the sites to see if they are legitimate and it comes up as a total chiness page, with no english in it. How do you know if the email is correct? or the spelling errors?

You are supposed to look for a button or link on the site "English" or USA or something.

If none, click Skip this Project.

Though if that is the link they submitted I'm not sure how to check that. I think they were supposed to submit the page found after looking for English version.

HTH!

No english buttons. It's just a pop up page too when I use firefox

When did you finish the work? If after 5pm pacific time Saturday, that would qualify as being done by 5pm Sunday, and paid by midnight tonight (according to the new payment rules on the site). Hopefully anyway!

It was fridayish. We will see what happens latter.

No fee from paypal... but only 15 cents. I did about a dollar's worth of reviewing. And I had all the pages I rated as poor/weak get rejected. There's still some pending though.

I followed the rules. If there was no change, I marked it as poor. There was one or two that seemed to be well written, but they were exactly the same as the website. And there were some that had small errors, like wrong puncuation, no space, misspelled words, even though the overall rewrite was pretty good.

I should tell Kari about it... she's good at writing, and can do those sorts of things really fast. Although her typing is another story....

I was paid $19.88 and no fees.

For the rejection stuff. They were talking about it on their facebook page discussion board.

I'm sure I won't be able to describe this as technical as it is, but it goes something like: You have a credibilty score of 50. You rate a page. Say you give it a Poor. They compare how you rated it to someone with a higher credibilty rating also rated it as they should be good at what they are doing to get that score. If they are the same or similar then you get approved if not, then denied, then of course your score goes down. While theirs goes unaffected. There's a bunch of scripty algorothim stuff as well, but I don't know much about that.

In theory this system should work. However, the scammers were figuring out how to get really high credibility scores, then just going thru and approving crud, so when an honest person rated it correctly, they are the ones that suffered.

This is what they are trying to fix. And I'm sure other stuff too, but this was a major glitch.

ETA:

At least this sounds promising...

From their discussion board

This was just posted by CloudCrowd on wahm.com's forums:

We're working diligently to resolve a number of issues that were allowing incorrect responses to pollute our credibility system. As soon as these are addressed we'll open all of the projects back up again. Work will be more tightly allocated for a while while we're testing everything.

We have a number of new projects waiting in the wings as well. Data entry and web/email search are just a couple.

Do you have to pay taxes? Do you a 1099 from them at the end of the year?

These sound interesting and certainly needed in my house... 1 paycheck isn't cutting it anymore. Thanks for sharing. :)

I would love to earn some extra money at home, but I'm so afraid of being scammed. I checked into kgb, and I was on board until I read that they require a checking account number. That just sounded like a red flag to me. This is very frustrating. :headache:

We use a separate checking account that we opened just for internet stuff. We keep a minimal amount in it and that way were aren't spreading around our main account number....FWIW, KGB didn't give us any problems, it just wasn't worth it to me, for $3 or so an hour.

I do kgb. It's not alot of money, but during busy times you can make much more. I haven't had a problem either at all with them and have been paid. I also have won t-shirts with them, and all have been sent to me as well. I did research on them and they are legit.

Thanks for the helpful information. :thumbsup2 Might have to give this a try.

I did $.48 worth of work last night, and got paid a couple of hours ago! About 24 hrs turn around, I would say. WOO HOO!! Big MONEY!!! LOL!

Liz

I've worked..very little, but worked..the past two days and been paid twice.

I took the test for KGB and passed, but now I'm not sure if I want to sign up because of needing to give them your bank account info.

Can anyone tell me more info about what you do for them, about how much work they have and how long it takes to get paid.

Thanks
