Just noticed that Leger are leaving the Tesco clubcard scheme later this year, so if anyone is planning a trip this way:
Trip has to be booked by 30th September, 2007 and holiday taken by 31st December, 2007.

For me it's a mix of good and bad news.
Bad news I won't be able to use my deals for our trip next year, good news is I think I'll have enough saved by September to book a pre Christmas trip

oh no we where saving them up for next yr och well ...

and lucky you getting a pre-xmas trip , we are going in october this yr was it good last yr around that time ???

I hope that they get somone to replace Leger, last year Tesco lost the only tour operator offering package deals by air/eurostar - one day I'm going to try and make sense of Airmiles and their DLRP packages.

It was October in 04 that we were there but yes Halloween is absolutely fabulous, one day I must get our photos from that trip online. regards the park itself October was my favourite visit, the decorations are fabulous, the music is so catchy and you get to meet the baddies.
DS's had their faces painted and their hair done almost every day and looked great. You'll have a superb time - guaranteed. :thumbsup2

If I can afford an October trip with the vouchers I have, we may choose it over the Christmas season, but in the Leger brochure October is far more expensive than November or December, so we'll have to see what pans out. :goodvibes

Does anyone know where Legers pick-up points are for coach passengers and I see if you're flying they can fly from your local airport for a fee, has anyone done this?

I couldn't see them detailed on the website but it does say this:-
Ultimate convenience - With over 400 joining points, there's bound to be one near you. During your journey you dont need to worry about a thing, as all your arrangements and luggage are taken care of by your experienced coach crew.

I guess there is probably a map of them in the brochure. This is their website here.

ryan.stephens : I note you're from Exeter and I know Leger picks up from Exeter services as I have thought about it before. The only thing stopping me is the thought of being stuck on a coach for several hours. I tend to fly from Exeter with Flybe now and if you can play around with your dates you can pick up some very reasonably priced flights leaving at 6.30 am (weekdays, slightly later on Sundays). You can also get an evening flight back which is really good as you can take full advantage of going to the park on the first day and having most of the day in the park on your last day. You can also fly from Bristol.

Yes I have thought about flying from EXT to CDG mainly because the first time we went was by coach and it took at least 12 hours each way so that was a whole day travelling :sad1:

It's a bit daunting first time if I did that because theres a lot to get in order before hand i.e. you have to get from EXT to CDG, then CDG to Disneyland Paris, and have accomodation and park passes ready...I know I would get at least one wrong...probably the park passes lol

It would be great if someone who has done this many times before could give me some pointers on how to get it right and how to get it without breaking the bank. :)

It's not that hard. Once you land at CDG (T1) you can either can get the VEA shuttle coach direct to CDG which is signposted in the airport. The VEA you pay on board and it goes directly to all the Disney hotels. If you're staying at one of the off-site hotels some of the coaches go direct otherwise you would need to get off at Disneyland station and catch the hotel shuttle bus (free). You could also prebook a private shuttle (see useful information sticky at top of board). Another option is the train but I have never done that. As to accommodation you can book direct with Disney which includes park hopper tickets or check some of the sites like Expedia, some of which come with tickets others don't. We have AP's so don't need to worry about tickets.

Oh this is such a shame :sad1: I am collecting Tesco clubcard points in the hope of going back to disney some time - but there is no way we will have enough before September.

Thanks for that poohmadmum.

It doesn't seem nearly as much trouble now you've put it that way, any ideas how much the VEA shuttle coach costs from CDG to DLRP?

I had a look at booking under Disneys website, I take it the 'packages' option includes hopper tickets (i.e both parks) even though it doesn't mention them anywhere throughout the booking process...are they for everyday you are booked into a hotel?

I think the VEA is 16 euro per adult and 13 euro per child each way but they do take credit/debit cards if you don't have cash left. Packages usually include hopper tickets for your length of stay including arrival/departure days.

I've just been having a look on the Internet for a great Disneyland Paris deal as my Brother and Sister-in-Law want to take their youngest children for a taster :)...I came up with a fairly good deal but my local airline let me down :sad2:...you'll see why!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Accomodation and Park Passes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adults: 2
Children: 2

Staying at Newport Bay Club Hotel (Standard Room including Breakfast)

Days: 3
Nights: 2
Park: 3 Day Hopper Pass

Cost: £433.50
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transportation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adults: 2
Children: 2

Flying from Exeter Airport to Charles De Gaulle at 06.30
Flying from Charles De Gaulle to Exeter Airport at 21.45

*Notice that we would have arrived just shortly after the parks had opened and also would have left just before the parks closed - perfect!*

Cost: £20.42 per person...but wait!...taxes are £58.65 per person
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I stopped there and then but the VEA Shuttle Bus would have cost around £10.80 per single adult and £8.80 per single child.

So the holiday would have been a wonderful £554.38 excluding money for food, drinks and souvenirs and even then it would have come out of a months wages with some left over but because of those extortionate airport charges (£234.60 to be exact!) it would have made the holiday in excess of £800  and  again!

Anyone know of a way to get those taxes removed or at least significantly reduced?!
