Legendary Los Angeles Tour

Has anyone taken this tour? Is it worth it? Is it good to go on with kids?
And secondly does it only come with hotel packages or can I book through Disney for the tour with just park tickets? We had considered renting a car to tour LA but then we would have to deal with parking. Any suggestions?

We took this tour in August. Overall we enjoyed the tour and do not regret taking it. Unfortunately we had a terrible tour guide. He was obnoxious and opinionated. We would have appreciated more facts and less of his opinion. He was especially down on Disney. I am returning in June with another friend and she wants to take a tour of LA and I desperately am trying to find another tour company. I think it boils down what guide you get. The actual tour stops were good.
