Legacy FP Machine SHUT DOWN at Magic Kingdom!!!!!!!!!!

I pulled legacy FP yesterday at MK and this morning at Epcot. I was disappointed to see them covered when we hopped to MK. I will say that they are not needed today as lines are pretty short.

Lines are only awful when the parks are busy, not due to FP- or FP+ availability.

Crowd predictors are all showing low crowds week of Jan 20th (except for weekend and lead in to holiday monday which are medium), so I doubt lines will be an issue - have fun and a great trip!

Haven't been yet since FP+. We are going for Spring Break (always the week leading to Easter for us), which is the only time we can go. We will have 4 days in the parks. We are staying at Shades of Green, so won't be able to book FP in advance. We will see how it goes, and if it goes well for us, as it has in the past, then we will continue to make WDW one of our main vacations. If it goes poorly, then we will have to rethink WDW, unless/until we are able to go during less crowded times. I will try and get back to you after our trip and let you know how things look at one of the most crowded times of the year.

Easy. They didn't use more than 3 FP- per day. Now they have 3 they don't have to work for and can schedule times for instead of having to collect FP- individually and hoping the times work. You're not limited to 3 rides, you're limited to 3 FP.

I don't like huge parts of the system, but I can understand why some people do.

In the spirit of "bipartisanship," I can honestly say that people who previously got fewer than 3 FPs (in some cases none) will probably like being limited to 3 FP+ because that's 3 more than they got in the past.

Also, first time visitors may not perceive it as a "limit" of 3, but rather a benefit that they are "guaranteed" 3 rides with "priority boarding." If your expectation is that you will have to stand in line for all of the rides, getting to "skip" 3 of those lines would be an improvement.

I guess.... We use way more than 3 in a day at the MK. We used the system in August & November & I can see how folks like the band for convenience like charging to the room & having as a room key (very nice when going to the pool) but the FP+??? I hate it. Theres no way I am waiting an hour for any ride so I guess were are out of luck when we go back...we will just use our 3 FP+, ride whatever has a short line, & then head to the pool or resort hop...I don't plan on doing more shopping just to fill up the time.

we were there last week and we double dipped at MK. My husband at first refused to do it thinking that it wasn't "fair" to others. But if you think about it that other people had access to the machines unlimited amounts of time it almost felt like a punishment to pay more to stay on property and be limited to 3 when others could get as many as they wanted, so I convinced my husband after the first day to get regular ones too and Im glad we did! With our fastpass+ and regular fastpass we probably had like 7 or so and therefore we never wait more then like 15 min. for any ride while at MK! it was awesome.

Yes, this system seems very geared to the new or once in a lifetime visitor..for us Disney die-hards not so much.

I totally agree with you, I think FP+ is very limiting, especially at MK and Epcot. It puts a huge damper on our touring style personally, I was just stating why some people do actually like it.

Didn't want 3 FP per day. Never used 3 FP before per day. Just wanted to be able to ride the rides we always have without NEEDING to schedule fast pass. Bummer.
I was foolish enough to hope this all would drag out long enough that the old FP would still be available in early May. Obviously not going to happen. We seriously didn't need or use FP at MK unless something was broken down. And that didn't help much because it wasn't up and running before we left for the day anyway.
Oh, well, I hope everyone who thinks this is a dawn of a new age is tickled silly. Or sillier. I'm all for technology when it benefits many people. I'm not so sure this technology benefits the majority.
We used to get a FP for Soarin' and get in the standby line and then ride it a second time. That's as close to "double dipping" as we ever got or wanted to get.
And, truly, I don't want someone limiting me to 3 FP that I only wanted one of anyway. Cheers to no tiers.

"Awful" isn't the same for everyone... I am fine with about a 30-40 minute wait, but my husband is more of a 20 minute waiter. Even with slow times we loved having a FP for less of a wait!
