Legacy FP Machine SHUT DOWN at Magic Kingdom!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not trying to tell you your vacations won't change at all- I'm trying to help you maximize your time given the new rules. It's pretty obvious things aren't going back to exclusively legacy FP. It is no longer possible to maximize your time the way you used to be able to. The number of FP+ may increase to four, tiering may be altered, deluxe resort guests may get more FP+ than the rest, any number of other changes could still happen- but the system is here to stay in some way, shape or form. You will have fewer FPs than you previously did- the question is what will you do about about it and will it result in you waiting in more lines? It has not for me- but I am not traveling with an 18 month old. I understand not wanting things to change- but they are changing- you are well within your rights to decide the change is too drastic and will change your vacations for the negative and choose to go somewhere else- Disney knows with all changes that there is a chance they will lose visitors for some reason or another.

I never said I wasn't going back :confused3. Nor was I trying to give the impression that I'm holding onto FP-. Trust me, I have no delusions that it's coming back ever :)

I was just responding to the assertion that RD and EMH are things everyone can use to maximize their time in the parks. They aren't options for our family at this point...not if we're traveling with just the 3 of us, anyway. If we have grandparents with us (who have always been willing to watch DD and let us go out), our options change drastically.

We will find ways to deal with the changes, I have no doubts about that. It's just getting tiring to constantly see the "well RD and EMH are the perfect solutions.". They are for some people...they were for us, pre-DD...but just as I acknowledge that FP- didn't work for everyone, nor does RD/EMH work for everyone. That's all I was trying to point out :confused3

I hope you saved one of yesterdays fastpasses for posterity. And I hope you found your Drizella. :)

We have a Pooh FP (if I'd known, I would've pulled others).

And we're making a special trip into MK tomorrow to see Drizella before we leave for home. ;)

oh i would never do that much in a day- that was in response to someone saying that they didn't want to rest on vacation

I think WDW is less of a vacation and more of a trip.

Thing is, with the old FP system, I didn't have to do all that. I could just pull a few FPs at a convenient time during regular park hours. No stretching EMHs needed (not that I could, staying offsite).

Uhhhh....when I can stay at Royal Pacific Resort on Universal property with an AP rate of $85/night and get free FOTL for a week then they seem like a clear winner to me. :confused3

I agree. I'm surprised a sarcasm specialist such as yourself didn't pick up on mine. We stayed there as well last weekend for the same price we paid for Port Orleans Ghettoside. What a difference. Having said that, I did have to pay for parking at Universal;)

Well you edited your post as I was replying. I was trying to find Magicbob's picture. Now I am just flustered by being called a "specialist". It's like when people say I am addicted to gambling. Actually I am addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.

ETA - I do agree with having to pay to park at the resorts...that does suck. Tell me the truth....did you wave your band at it just to test it? ;)

I really do wish that at the very least Disney set up the FP+ slots to on-site guests the way they set up dining credits. That way if someone wanted to spend a day at the resort they could still use those slots on another day. But then I guess that won't happen since the guest might (gasp) decide to go offsite to US for the day.

Maybe they could take the parking lots out of all the resorts to discourage having a car onsite too.
But this logic doesn't work in our world. Universal closes early much of the year so what would keep us from booking FP+ in the evening and then after spending the day at Universal coming back to ride our FP+ reserved rides?

I'm a Universal fan but those high parking rates annoy me. Unfortunately that is getting to be all too common all over central Florida. :sad2:

If you ever figure out a way around that, you'll have to let us know. ;)

When I tested my MB, it was worn on my left wrist that tended to rest on the side of the vehicle door that had the window down. The window was down of course so that I could pass $15 through it. It seemed that the mere sight of the band resulted in a frantic waving forward motion by the parking attendant. My test of the MB suggested that it did not have to be waved furiously at the parking gate to achieve this. The band being in a stationary position was all it took.
