Leg waxing before trip? ~Update Page 2~

So, I took the plunge and had the full leg wax done about an hour ago.

All I can say is OWWWW!!! :scared1:

The lower part of the leg hurt far worse than the upper part of my leg as another poster mentioned. The top half of my leg feels smooth but the lower half feels rough. I'm worried because the hair is more coarse on the lower half that maybe she didn't get it all out by the root? :confused3 I don't know if it feels rough because of all the bumps or what.

Oh, I do hope this is worth it. Leaving December 10th! I doubt I'll ever do it again that's for sure! :rotfl:

We leave on Dec 8th-15th & staying at Pop Century. I just bought one of these & it works GREAT on your legs, bikini area, & underarms. The legs do not hurt, the underarms take a few times to adjust to the pain, & the bikini area is killer, but GREAT results. See the link below to learn more. My legs, underarms, & bikini area have never been this smooth for almost a week now. The box states it should stay smooth for 3-4 weeks, my hair dresser recommended it. :santa: :santa:

I don't know if this helps, because I've never had my legs waxed, but I have very sensitive skin and found that getting my eyebrows waxed left me with quite a rash for over a week. I then tried sugaring and it irritates my skin much less, I have a slight rash for a couple days. It is essentially the same idea as waxing, but the stuff is made of all natural ingredients like lemon and sugar, and it isn't as hot so that probably helps as well. It is slightly more expensive than waxing but to me, worth it (at least for my eyebrows). Another thing in the shaving dept. that has helped me is the Intuition razor with the "soap" built in. I no longer get bumps on my bikini line and because it is easy to use I can do it quickly every day on vacation in the shower.

Have you ever thought about switching to threading? My eyebrows are very sensitive to waxing, too, as is my upper lip. I switched to threading about two years ago and it is terrific! Well, painful, but at least it doesn't break me out. It isn't as fast as waxing (instead of a couple of quick zips, it's a couple of minutes of what feels like very fast tweezing), but the little extra pain is well worth the lack of skin irritation for me.

Just wanted to update. :goodvibes

Even though it was very painful, it was REALLY worth it. I'll definitely be doing it again for our next vacation - it saved me so much time not having to shave my legs or have to keep "checking" to make sure I didn't miss a spot. :rotfl: I felt so much more confident just slipping into a pair of shorts or putting my swimsuit on for the pool.

So far, 3 weeks and just a few small spots grew back. It's been great. :)

Thanks for the advice. I have heard of threading, but never noticed anywhere around my home that offers it. I will look into it.

My advise to regular waxers...save money & sign up for laser hair removal.

I'm sorry I didn't start sooner. It may be more money up front but it's permanent so in the long run it's much cheaper than regularly waxing. Also, you don't have to have the horrible growing stage in between waxing appointments & NO ingrown hairs...ever.

I'm Italian, so needless to say, for me to be smooth I have to shave twice a day. I am halfway through my laser treatments now, but on my DCL/WDW trip I had only had one treatment & the whole vacation I never had to shave.

It's incredible. The sooner you do it the more $$$ you save!! :cloud9:

Also, never take aspirin (Tylenol) before waxing or laser, only ibuprofen (Advil). :thumbsup2
