LEFTOVERS

I would actually find it more caring to EVERYONE for everyone to only order what they KNOW they will need.

But clearly @MissSha and I are the only ones who think leaving them in the hall in the open is tacky.

There's a big difference between thinking something is tacky (I would actually agree with that!) and descending into hypotheticals about recovering alcoholics falling off the wagon because someone put leftover beer in the laundry room or in a hallway. I also have family members and friends who live with addictions – and have died from them – but you can't live life through a series of what-if butterfly effects.

I have never checked in and walked past groceries piled up in the hallway & we go about four or more times a year!
I have been to the laundry room, vending and never seen piles of groceries.

Before Covid, I often walked past room service trays left in the hallway.

Like I said in a previous post the one Facebook group I’m familiar with is “DVC recycle”. The spirit of This Facebook group is: “ A friendly place to share with fellow DVC members! Are you headed home and have leftover items you can’t take on the plane? Share them with another DVC family”

The reason people leave the stuff out is for others to take for free and not have to spend their own money. Do you not consider that "caring for others"?
No, it isn't caring for others to leave junk in the hallway and make it look crappy. Disney resorts are expensive, theming is a big part of it, and most people want a clean, attractive place to stay. I can see leftover graham crackers & boxes of juice at the lounge at work anytime, and it isn't appealing even there.
