Leftover Days on Resort ID Card

We have two days remaining on Park Hopper tickets from 2004. The tickets were encoded on our resort ID. For our trip in 2005 we are planning on only two days at Disney Parks so there's no need to upgrade our tickets. Question though - will they convert the unused days on the old resort IDs to the new IDs issued on our next trip? Is this a Guest Relations transaction or something that can be done at check-in?

Hopper tickets are not traditionally stored on Resort IDs. Only the Ultimate Park Hoppers are included on a Resort ID, which are Length of stay passes - meaning they are only good thru the day you check out (including that day too though). I've never seen a Park Hopper/Park Hopper Plus coded onto a Resort ID - in fact 2 trips ago we had my parents with us who weren't going to be in the parks every day and we asked for their passes to be coded on their resort keys and they said it cannot be done.

Maybe someone with a closer tie to guest services can shed some light, but I think your Resort IDs are "cooked".

Keep the cards and try to use them as-is.

If they were indeed originally Ultimate aka Unlimited, or Ultimate traded up from regular hoppers, they have long expired.

If regular hopper pass privileges themselves were to be encoded onto a room key, they would work just the same as regular Hopper or Hopper Plus tickets and would trade up to a new (MYW) ticket with an equally unfavorable exchange rate. The current rule is that every attribute on the old ticket (such as non-expiration) to the extent possible must be on the new ticket and the final price may be unexpectedly high.

We always get regular park hoppers and they put them on our resort ID. We got park hopper plus once and they put those on the resort ID too. We have never bought ultimate park hoppers. Our last trip was 12/04.

We haven't been in 2005 yet so I don't know how we'll handle our park hoppers -we have one day left. Some people on these boards said they'll honor our tickets.

We have a resort ID with a childs plus left on it. We bought our tickets at check in at POFQ and they put our 5 day hopper plus pass right on our id. We probably won't go to a water park so we won't use it this trip, but we do still have it. If we were to use it we would not convert, we would just take it right to the turnstile and use it as a hopper.

My question was ultimately answered at check-in. The CM had to call for some help, but they were able to convert the remaining days on to our new resort IDs last week. It was either that or carry around an extra set of cards!
