Left overs when checking out

We're checking out of BWV on Sept. 27. (We're leaving at 7 am.) Want our stuff?? I could leave it at the desk for "Mr. Dis'er." I'm sure the desk would loooove to handle it for you. :cutie:

My husband just added that there won't be any beer left.

At the end of my vacation, I am checking out of a BW view room into a standard room for one night!(Had points to use or lose). Will bell services keep my extra food until I re-check in later that day?

I see the new thread about passing on food, but what kills me is the butter for your toast and you buy a whole tub but only use it twice, or a jar of mayo for tuna that you dont want to bring on the plane. I also passed on salt and pepper shakers and a half gallon of milk that wasn't used. Some open things are still good to pass on despite being open. I wouldn't pass on a ny open chips or something but Jelly and stuff for sandwhiches should be good to go, especially real sugar for coffee or tea.

Yes- just ask them to put the perishables in the cooler after you bag them up and label them. The stuff that doesn't need to be cold can stay with your luggage. I plan to bring one of those insulated zipper bags my grocery is selling these days for this purpose if we are going to change resorts or rooms on a future trip. They take up very little space in luggage and are easily recognized when you go to pick up the food.

We try to give it to someone checking in or sometimes housekeeping. Looking at the housekeeping thread makes me wonder how much time they spend packing away our stuff to take instead of cleaning.

Funny you should mention butter! That's a problem for us, too. We don't need a big container of it, and that's all the store at BWV has. I was on my way down to look for some (we'd forgetten it at WalMart), when an older lady walked out of a villa with a used room service tray of breakfast stuff. There were two BIG gobs of untouched butter on it - still covered with plastic wrap. I mentioned that that was one way to get butter. She sat the tray down and handed them to me and gave me four little unopened jars of jam, too. (My 4 yo niece, who was with me, liked the jam part.) She said the butter hadn't been touched because they didn't eat real butter and they were checking out - and assured me they had no communicable diseases.:goodvibes She hated having to buy a ton of butter (diet margerine in her case) just for breakfast toast, too. Nice lady - she also gave my niece a flower from a bouquet in the room.

We'll eat real butter (if that's what it was) on vacation. That butter and jam lasted us for 5 days of toast. So, thank you, whoever you are - it was a very nice gesture. And now I like to pass on what we have left (maybe not butter) to other DVCers, too.

When we were at BCV last time I heard our neighbors in their room as we were leaving. I knocked on the door and asked them if they wanted all of our unopened items. They were happy to take it and I felt better knowing someone would actually use it!:)

Were checking into the AKV on September 12th and out on the 20th. Wouldn't mind some "gifts" or donating our leftovers when we leave.

"Hey, fellow Michigander! We will be checking in AKV on June 15 and checking out on July 4th."

Wow! Lucky you, what a nice, long vacation! We are excited, surprising our boys for their birthdays! :goodvibes

We will be arriving at the AKL for first dvc vacation on May 17. We are very excited.
