I made chicken pot pie tonight and used Pillsbury ready made crusts. They were larger than my pie dish, so I had about a fistfull left over after I cut it to size. Any ideas on what to use it for since there is not very much?:confused3 I hate to waste it. I have it in a baggie in the fridge.

Roll it out, or not (just spread out the scraps.) Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, bake on a cookie sheet according to pie crust directions. Enjoy. :surfweb:

Or roll them out once, sprinkle with grated cheese (Parmesan works well), folld, roll and sprinkle again then cut into strips and bake for cheese straws.

I always end up eating these hot from the oven and serving guests shop nibbles;)

The cinnamon and sugar idea brings back fond memories of my mom when we were kids. We always looked forward to that treat!

I remember my mom buying Jiffy crust mix when I was a kid and we would make it,roll it out, and spread a layer of butter on it then cinnamon sugar then she would roll it up and slice it pinwheel style and then bake.
OMG they were so good!

The cinnamon sugar on the dough sounds really good, I will try that sometime!

If you have small cookie cutters like a leaf shape, you could also cut out the shapes and arrange them along the edge of the pan for a decorative edge to the pot pie or any other pie too instead of just crimping.

The cinn/sugar stuff is really good... but I have to be honest.... I would just eat the plain leftover crust raw! :confused3 :rolleyes1

I know what you mean! I can't make pies b/c I never have enough dough b/c I'm too busy eating it as I'm supposed to be rolling it out! :rotfl: My mom makes me leave the kitchen when she's doing the Thanksgiving pies.
