We made WAY too much shredded BBQ Beef for Thanksgiving (we have a wild game feed, and it's actually goose, but it's just like beef, so same thing), and this will be our fourth meal of BBQ beef sandwiches. I'm getting a little bored with them (although they are very good), and wondered if there was something else creative I could do with this meat. It's just like shredded beef with BBQ sauce in it.

Any ideas??

TIA!!

My kids like it in "meat puppets." Take grand-sized fridge biscuits (or you could make home made biscuit or pie dough) roll them out to about a 5 inch circle, press into a Texas muffin tin, and fill with the meat. Add a little cheese of your choice on top, and bake at the time and temp specified for the biscuits. Pretty good with some tomato or veggie soup.

ETA: your sig made me laugh. We've been having a whole Veggie Tales discussion on another thread, just having a little sing along. LOL

Oooo - good ideas!! Thank you!!

Michelle67 - I need a link to that thread.... please. I love VeggieTales!

We love shredded beef with sauce on pizza. Take dough (or flatbread, Boboli, etc.), and layer of the beef with sauce, then top it with shredded cheddar cheese. Some chopped onion, too, if you like. This disappears like nobody's business in our house.

Or, you could freeze it and save for a quick dinner some other night, on rolls.

we make paninis with left over pulled pork, we put some cheese and sauteed onions on with the meat and put it in the press; I would imagine the BBQ beef would be just the same

We were singing on the conservative thread. If you'd rather stay away from political threads we can sing right here. All together now..."Cebuuuuuuuuuu." :rotfl: BTW, I was just IMing with my hubby in Iraq and I sent him the Cebu MP3 file. He was cracking up. He loves that song.

I like to make hash out of it........diced onions, potatos, spices etc.

I also like to make taco meat or burrito mix with it. Or, better yet, use as topping on Super Nachos......

If I am in "plan-ahead" mode, I take meal size portions and freeze the meat for later consumption.

Actually when I make the BBQ Goose I make a large batch and freeze it in 1 lb portions. This was three packages of frozen pre-made BBQ, thawed and heated in a crockpot. I wasn't sure if freezing it a second time was a good idea. Does anyone know?? :confused3

What I've heard is that it may affect texture. I do it, never had a problem. I mostly do it with hamburger when I make it up for tacos, but also sometimes other meats.
