I saw her left-brained, makes sense, I am a bad photographer. I couldn't see her turning clockwise no matter how hard I tried.

Yep - that's me too. No way could I see her going clockwise. I'm just left brained - that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it.

I'd like to know how its possible to make an animated GIF file (GIF image (animated, 34 frames)) that has an animation that could go either way?

All other right brain/left brain tests are still object or multiple choice tests.

So is that a leftbrained question or a right brained question?...seems like it's a technical yet artistic question!:confused3 ;)

I can only see her going clockwise. I tried looking away and looking at her feet, and she's still only going clockwise for me. This is messing with my mind. I am totally a math/science/detail-oriented person :confused3 ...very weird!!

OK DH came home and he still can only see her going counter clockwise - I can only see her going clockwise. Kylie - our oldest sees both - the dancer will just switch directions on her. I am wondering how our youngest will see it when she gets home.

This is kinda freaky - and interesting at the same time.

ok, for me it was going clockwise no matter what I did. I viewed it in Firefox and in Internet Explorer thinking that maybe it was a random gif and was some sort of a joke.

While I had it opened my father in law walked by and I asked him what he saw. He first said it was going counter-clockwise. Then he said it changed direction. Then he said it changed again. I looked at him like he had four heads because I was staring at it while he was saying it just changed direction and only kept going in the same direction from what I could see. I told him he was crazy because it WASN'T changing direction and he was just as adamant that it WAS changing.

I'll try it with DW when she gets home. Based on all the other tests, I'm more of a right brained person and she's more of a left brained.

This is weird.

Very interesting....I will try this with DH and oldest DS when they get home later. I just showed it to DS13 and he sees it both ways. He said it kept changing and it was hurting his brain. :lmao: I looked at it the whole time he was looking at it and it looked counter-clockwise to me the whole time.

DW and I started opposite one another. I saw it going counter clockwise, she saw it clockwise, then at the same time it would switch for the both of us to the opposite direction.

Aha....I've now managed to see her go both ways (not that there's anything wrong with that...). The way I was able to do it was to look at the reflection of the elevated foot. Concentrate on that and imagine it going whichever direction you want. Once I saw it going clockwise, I couldn't envision it going counterclockwise, which is the exact opposite of earlier. Then I concentrated on the reflection and imagined it counter-clockwise and walla, she was spinning that direction again.

Since I can manipulate my mind to see her spin either way, what do you think that means? I tend to be left-brained but can force myself to see right-brained? I'm ambedextrious-brained? Personally, and I think DW would agree, I'm lacking brained.

I showed DH, and now it is spinning counter-clockwise for me (opposite of before) :scared1: . If I concentrate on the point where her knees cross, I can get it to switch back & forth. Weird, though!

DH and a friend I sent it to saw it clockwise until reading at the side then when they looked back it was switched.

I tried looking at different parts, including the reflected foot and it still won't turn clockwise for me. I must have a very stubborn left brain. :)

I looked at her and she flew away. Guess it's true, I'm bird-brained like everyone says.

Actually she went clockwise only for me. I'll check it out again and see if it can go clock and counter clock for me.

Edit: Nope. She only goes clockwise. I look away, stare at her feet, whatever I do she only turns clockwise. Now my wife wants to know why I am staring at a naked shadow lady.....

whooo you must be really left brained to think of that:lmao: ( i think that is the logical one but i didn't read it enough to remember if that is right or not so i am a left brain with right tendencies:lmao: )
anyone really interested in this should read the books by Betty Edwards, drawing on your right side of the brain( title is something like that, husband has them) she teaches you to draw and use your right brain by drawing upside down ( really ) it's interesting..i always think i am right sided but i am more left sided really

and the girl switches back and forth for a while then just goes one way for a while i don't think it's how much you concentrate just when you happen to look at it
since i saw both guess it's true i am brainless

She went both ways for me and I could get her to stop for a second. I thought it was a trick!

Totally clockwise. There's no way she's turning counter-clockwise. I think you all are just saying that to mess with my mind.

Ditto that.

Clockwise, which surprised me as I've always figured I was more left-brained, if there even is such a thing, as I seem to recall a neuropsych professor in college who insisted there's not.

She started going counter-clockwise when I turned my laptop to show it to my 9yo dd. Incidentally, dd also says clockwise, which is less surprising because she is very creative, but also rather analytical like her dear old mum.

ETA: Some quick research (does that prove I'm really left-brained?) suggests this may have something to do with the fact that information from the left side of your field of vision gets processed in the right side of your brain and vice versa, which evidently is why she changes direction when I turn and look at the screen from the side. Interesting stuff.

Showed it to DS 15 tonight, he saw it counter first then clockwise after a while and then switching a lot. While I was standing there expaining what it meant to him, I looked up at her and finally saw her move clockwise. The right side of my brain came out of hiding. Now, I can see her both ways, but not by choice, I mean, I can't just make it switch by looking a particular place. I never know which way I will see her.
