Our flight recently changed, so we'll have from 9am to 5pm free on a Monday in Oct. If we decide to go to Universal is there someplace (a locker, a stand) that we can drop off our luggage before we go into the park?

Also about how long would it take to get to the airport from the Universal?

Where are you staying the night before? It is a Universal resort? If so, then you leave it at the resort and come back for it when you are ready to go to the airport.

Or are you using a rental car? Just leave it in the car (covered up if you can).

There are large family sized lockers at both parks outside the gates if you weren't staying onsite.

We're staying at one of the Disney resorts, and won't have a rental car.... unless we rent one just to go to universal. Would the large family sized lockers fit a hard sided carry on? Can a non-hotel guest use the left luggage in the universal resorts?

The family sized lockers are 17″ wide by 23″ high by 36" deep and are $10/day.

I would contact guest services to see if there are any other options.

Hmmmm... Depending on number of people and how much luggage you'll have and how you plan on getting to Uni from WDW and to MCO from Uni, renting a car and paying to park at Universal may be your cheapest option. You can pick up at WDW Dolphin and drop at MCO and store your luggage in the car. Just get something with a trunk.

Questions - can you check in all but a small bag using the WDW luggage check? Do they still offer that where you check your luggage at the resort on check out day and you don't see it again until you get off the plane at your home airport? Is that only available if you're using DME? How many people are in your group? How much luggage will you have?

Universal to MCO is about 20 minutes in light traffic but if you're leaving on a Monday at 5pm I would plan on at least 30 minutes.
