Leeway time from park to resort restaurant question

We are first timers in the great world and I have a question about length of time to allow to get from a park to a restaurant. We will be in the Magic Kingdom on a Tuesday in the end of November and we have 5:40pm reservations for dinner at the 1900 Park Fare restaurant in the Grand Florian Resort. What estimated time should be leave Magic Kingdom to get to the resort and what is the best mode of transportation?

I would give yourself at least 30-45 minutes. If you are going back to the MK that night..I would take the monorail. If you are driving and not going back to MK after dinner, I would take the car.
