Oh my gosh! We decided to get DH's Grandpa LED Christmas lights for his present this year. He loves to decorate, and when we talked to him after Thanksgiving he mentioned that he should probably replace his lights with those energy saving ones. I had actually bought a few that morning at K-mart, but before we knew that it would be a good gift. K-mart had a whole shelf full of them. Last night, I was at Target, they had a whole shelf of them.
Today, I scanned the ads, and saw that Ace Hardware, and K-mart had them on sale. We go to Ace, they had like 5 strings of clear bulbs, but we wanted multi-color. So off to K-mart we go...GONE...okay, so let's go to Target, we'll pay full price, but whatever...GONE. And like a dozen people wandering around, arms full of lights. We went next door to Michaels and they had like 5 packs of multi-color left, several clear ones. Thankfully, they were also on sale.
So we got what we needed for Grandpa, but if you were planning on stringing a bunch of LED lights this year, and haven't bought any, you might want to get in gear. Now, if you wanted the old style of lights, everyone had shelves and shelves and shelves of those. But no LEDs. It's crazy, you can buy the old style 100 bulbs for $2.49, or strings of 50 for the LED for $9.99 regular price...and everyone is picking the more expensive ones.
