I just changed my reservation to add free dining in December, so of course when I call to get a LeCellier ADR, they are sold out at this point. How long of a wait might I encounter if I attempt to walk up on Saturday 12/20?? We could do lunch or dinner. Would it be not worth attempting during this time of year? TIA!

Le Celier almost laughts at people who try to walk up for dinner. For lunch, you may have a slight chance.

First of all as I am sure you know this is one of the most (if not the top) popular restaurants in any of the parks. Plus going on a Saturday during the time frame you will be there is going to add to the restaurant being booked solid as usual. I would think that if you have any chance in the world of getting in on a walk up it would be first thing at lunch time. Although do not be alarmed if you walk up and they say "sorry but we can not accept any walk ups at this time".

With that said it never hurts to try. Just try it with the attitude that it will not work out and then you can not be dissapointed.

Have a great time either way.

Try lunch. Weekend nights are booked solid and I have been there on Saturdays and they just turn the people away. Good Luck!

great ;) I just changed my Tutto Italia reservation for Saturday 12/20, so my other option for LeCellier could be on Thursday 12/18. Maybe I would have a better chance for a lunch walk up on a Thursday???

While we have been waiting to be seated, I too have seen the "highly amused" CM's interacting with walk-ups on many occasions, even weekdays. I agree also that lunch might be a better shot, but it's going to be tough. You could also try to continue calling once you get there too. Good luck!:)

Keeping calling everyday. Although you may not get it, there is a chance around the 45 day mark (when packages must be paid), that people may cancel. A bit after that mark and it will be tougher, but again keep trying even when you get there. If not try first thing for lunch on 18th as that will be easier than the 20th.

Good Luck :wizard:

Actually, my mom and I got a walk up at Le Cellier in the middle of July for dinner. We had reservations at Spoodles but we stopped by the Canada pavilion and decided to just give it a shot. It was kind of early, around 5:30, but they fit us right in. The food was absolutely delicious and a highlight of our trip, for sure. I would say it can't hurt to try... reading the DIS I never would have thought that I would be able to get a walk up in the middle of the summer, but it worked out perfectly for us.

You never know!!

We have done walkups at LeCellier for dinner twice, once was this year. This was after trying to call for an ADR starting 4 months away with nothing opening up. We went as soon as they started serving dinner and they did not laugh at us; we waited about 15 minutes and were seated.

I wouldn't go expecting it but I also would not give up without trying.

The big problem with Le Cellier is that the dining room is small, so they can't fit many people in at one time, meaning there is less chance a table will open up for a walk up. Having said that, I have managed twice this year, and my best advice is to go either at the very beginning of dinner, or right towards the end of the night (especially if you don't mind missing Illuminations, because people start to head out to watch them after 8.30pm.) Best of luck, the food is really good!

Good luck! :goodvibes

I know I was very lucky and I booked at 180 days 7:10 a.m!!! They say it's tough to get in..but you never know, maybe someone will not show!!!:thumbsup2

I would say to keep trying for an ADR because you could catch a cancellation. I have been calling on and off since June for a lunch ADR for early December. I was trying for 4 different days during our trip and I finally got lucky when I called Wednesday.

If I had been unable to get an ADR, we were going to try a walk up at opening fully expecting that we would be told they were booked up ... but hoping we might get in. I hope you do get an ADR or are able to be seated as a walk up ... good luck! :goodvibes

From times I haved tried to get in and calling and what I read on these boards you have a better shot at Dec/09.

thanks. I'll try to keep calling and hope something may open up. If nothing comes up that way, I may try to walk up and just ask...you never know!! What time do they start serving lunch and dinner?

I would never try for a walk-up at Le Cellier, at any time of year. It's easily the most popular restaurant at Epcot -- it "sells out" months in advance, as you're experiencing. They turn walk-ups away in droves!

A few years ago my daughter and I were in EPCOT for a girls weekend. She was 5 at the time. We were wandering around and stumbled upon the little path outside of Le Cellier. We were hungry so we went over and looked at the menu (it was dinner time). The CM at the door said do you have ADRs? I said no. He said let me check to see if we can get you in. We were seated within 5 minutes and had the most amazing meal ever. Ever since I was hooked on the place. I would tell you that walk ups can happen but not to get your hopes up. Especially during a chaotic time of year. Good Luck!!
