I know LeCellier is the "must get" adr and I have it on my list to try to get tomorrow morning...but family and I were just talking it over and were thinking that maybe Teppan Edo would be a great experience. The kids and I (husband has) have never eaten at a Japanese restaurant and it looks like that it would be entertaining and delicious. I have a 17, 12 and 2 year old...what are your thoughts on Teppan Edo and would we be nuts to pass up Le Cellier for it???

Teppan Edo was a fun experience, but the food wasn't that remarkable. I much prefer the food at Le Cellier.

Food- LeCellier
Fun Atmosphere- Teppan Edo

That's the bottom line, you just have to decide what's more important to you and your family.

LeCell is YUMMY!
We're trying Teppan for first time this visit. We got REAL lucky and actually got 2 dinners at LeCell and a DInner at Teppan for our group, and at great times too.....VERY lucky indeed!!!!

I don't get the hype over LeCellier, food is mediocre and atmosphere is cramped and dark, so I have no issue comparing the two ;)

Teppan Edo is very tasty and entertaining. It's a nice atmosphere. If you've never been to a Benihana or similar restaurant, it'll be unique and special for your family.

totally vote for TE... we've eated at LC 3 times and each time i have left "under-impressed" and cannot figure out what all the hype is about... now, TE we *LOVE!* we've eaten there three times also and cannot wait to go back... it is #1 on my family's (me, dh, dd14, ds12 and ds1) list!!! i think you'll enjoy it :)

Le Cellier - hands down.

DH and I had ressies for Teppan Edo. I've eaten there before and liked it. It's like a Benihana's. Anyway, we have no kids. The atmosphere at TE was overwhelming for us-crowded and loud. We opted to eat at the other portion of the restaurant at loved it. It's by the sushi bar but we didn't have sushi.

I love Le Cellier. Love steaks and think they are excellent. I've eaten at great restaurants here and abroad and appreciate a good meal. You will get it at LC.

These are our 2 favorite restaurants at Epcot, so you really can't go wrong with either one. Your kids would definitely enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment at Teppan Edo, which is in short supply at LeCellier. We found the food at Teppan Edo excellent and our meal at LeCellier was excellent as well.
So you certainly wouldn't be "losing out" if you chose Teppan Edo. I say go for it!

LeCellier- the food is better

Teppan Edo- Experience is great, food is okay(DH loves the food) but I think our local chain Ichiban has better food. The kids will enjoy the experience.

Okay...I got a ressie for both LeCellier and Teppan Edo...but I have to choose...and ugh:confused3...they both get good reviews...I'm so torn...I know I shouldn't be this obsessed with a dining reservation...but I understand that you are all right and we have to make a decision of which our family would like to do...atmosphere & good food or the ever-popular, good food LeCell. I understand we can't go wrong with either...just hard to give one up...and I have to choose...or maybe I give up Les Chefs de France for Teppan Edo....lol...for our other day at Epcot....thoughts on that scenario??? Help me!!!:rotfl2:I'm losing it!!! Ugh!!! LOL

I totally agree. We've eaten at LeCellier 3 times, and finally my DH looked at me and asked, "Why do we eat here every single time?" All I could answer was that it was "the" ADR to get on these boards. We decided then that while it was a good dinner, it was not worth the hype, nor worth an annual trip there.

Teppan Edo, on the other hand is the ADR that all 4 of us want on every trip. Fun, fresh, and very tasty food cooked to order in front of you. It's great.

DH and i love Japanese hibatchi style food, although i'm a sushi lover..lol. Honestly, i'd say Disney's version, is by far the WORST we've ever had. KOBE restaurants that are right outside of Disney (if you have a car, or want to get a cab) happens to be the BEST we've ever had. And really, Teppan Edo just doesnt give you enough food! Every time we leave a Japanese restaurant, no matter WHERE we go, we are stuffed to the gills. Nope, not here. Le Cellier is a WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better choice, and happens to be the #1 place we try for, all the other ressies just get placed around LeCellier..lol.;)
