LeCellier in Canada at Epcot

We loved it on our last trip. Our server was wonderful and the food was excellent. Sorry folks, but do you think "troll"?

We were there a couple of weeks ago. Didn't care for it. Food was average and atmosphere was boring. It was overpriced and it just didn't do anything for us at all.

It wasn't terrible. It just wasn't anything special IMHO.

It's funny but that's exactly how I feel about Calif. Grill! I know most people think it's the best thing since sliced bread, but we just don't care for it. But LeCellier is a family favorite. Go figure.

It's what makes the world go 'round :goodvibes

Sorry you had a bad meal there. We had a fab time and will be back several times in the future. Bribing Dh with food is how I get to come back.

I was thinking that also. ;)

Sounds like my experience at Morocco. Food was good -service was HORRIBLE. I mean I know that stuff happens sometimes, so we are gonna give it another try in th future.
I will be eating at La Cellier in 2 weeks, so I hope I get decent service there and am looking forward to the food.

I had a similar experience with Le Cellier and excessively slow and inattentive service. I won't be going back.

Lets see.. 6 posts for both of them? Same conversational style between both mickeeeemouse and ElliotKnockers? Troll Alert! :stir: :stir:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE LeCellier! I loved it so much on our last trip we went twice. Great food, good service, cant wait to go back in Oct. :thumbsup2

This was my experience earlier this month..I had a great experience there in August though,so I will give it another shot...the best steak I had on my Jan trip was the Teriyaki steak at the Kona Cafe

I still will not go back. I have been to better places to eat and they can keep this restaurant. I have eaten at the Palm, Mortons, Houstons, etc.
Disney is over priced and over rated at some of their restaurants.
I enjoy Disney don't get me wrong but it is going down hill in certain areas.
I am a local here and I see what is going on first hand.

The Palm is good but Morton's is overrated; just like Ruth's Chris the chain just doesn't do it justice... However, you are comparing apples to Oranges. My favorite steak house and the best I have ever been too in the country is the Chicago Chop House, followed by Gibson's. I would never compare the two to Le Cellier because it isn't a fair comparison. Le Cellier isn't on the same level as these places... it is a mid tier level steakhouse. I think it is excellent for what it is, but if you gave me the choice I will take the Chop House any day of the week. I don't think Le Cellier is overpriced. It is cheaper than most of the good Steakplaces in Chicago and I always preferred it to Shula's, which I do think is overpriced for the quality.

Mickeeeemouse...I agree with you on that one...Ohana is great! :thumbsup2

The change in Menu keeps me from wanting to return to Ohana. Taking away the shrimp for that oh so hawaiian dish of TURKEY? SO disappointing to me.

Well, ok Mickeeemouse.. your opinion counts... NOT!!!! You should stick with Noodle Station in Tomorrowland... But, I feel your pain... I had bad service once in ESPN CLub... Will never eat there again.. People, he doesn't like Le Cellier.. leave him alone... Mickeeemouse, you are OK in my book.

I have had bad service at Disney restaurants before... A few things:

1) The menu to me is most important in dictating whether I will go back. If you hate the food offered (not the quality that visit), it isn't worth your time.

2) But, if you like the way the food sounds then I suggest giving any place another chance on a seperate trip. Bad service may be a one time thing. Same with quality. My steak was blood red rare and still mooing at Les Chefs, but just because it happens once doesn't mean the whole place is bad.

3) DID YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND TALK TO A MANAGER? IF THE FOOD QUALITY WAS BAD DID YOU ASK FOR ANOTHER DISH? Talk to Guest Services? If not then you really shouldn't complain... it is the same as people who don't vote complaining about politics. I sent my Les Chefs steak back (I tried a bite but couldn't eat it... it was cold red center... really rare) and they replaced with a new one. No fuss, no problem. I had bad service at Artist's lodge one time and I asked to speak to the manager (and at this time I was a cast member so I knew what was ok and not) and they took care of the issue and comped the meal.

4) On the flip side, if you have excellent service do you tip 20% or more? Do you tell a manager that the service was great? Go to guest services? Money is most appreciated by waiters BUT nice praise to a manager goes a long way. It is a great thing to do and It made me feel good when someone asked to speak to my manager and complimented me in front of him (although it scared the heck out of me too as I didn't know if they would bad mouth me)

Apparently you have an issue with Le Cellier... Many people disagree. But to trash it based on one bad business seems a little ridiculous.

We tried Le Cellier for the first time last October & we were very pleased with the food & service. This will be a "must do" every trip. I am looking forward to my fillet mignon with risotto followed by the delicious raspberry sorbet this August. :teeth:

Sorry you had a bad experience there.

I just made ADR's for the end of June and all I could get was 4:00 or 8:30. Must be pretty popular - I'm hoping I might be able to call back and get another time. What are the chances of that?

We're toying with Le Cellier for our trip in March. How is it for kids? My kids are 8 & 4 and whilst I know Disney s great for kids, I'm not sure if this type of restaurant would suit.

Thanks

Derek

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience there. We've had nothing but good experiences there (although the steaks are a bit small, they are still fantastic). Plus they have that smoothie drink called the Maple Leaf (I think that's it name) which is fantastic on a hot day.
As for it being good for kids, when I was there last year, my sister was 5 and we ate there twice, so needless to say she found something she liked. They have the typical Disney menu, though: chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. I find that each country usually has a dish specific to that country (i.e. Italy with spaghetti) but I'm not sure what LeCellier offers. I hope this helps!

I go to Le Cellier every trip, sometimes twice and over the years I have never had a bad meal or bad service. The room may not be for everyone and everyone has an off day, I guess I've just been very lucky.

Relax people, this is not a "troll' alert.. Believe me, I know what a "troll" is.. and I am not one... So, let's forget that...

If you eat somewhere and don;t like it, then don't eat there again, plain and simple... I happen to like Beirgarten and eat there every trip... I don't care for Portobello's and will not go there again.. We all have out opinions.. And I am just stating mine.. Isn't that what these boards are for??? I know I read other threads bashing places and attractions people didn't like.. So, Mickeeemouse bashed Le Cellier... So what???? Now, the only problem I have with it is, was this his/her first time there?? If it was, then it is unfair to judge it on one experience... If his/her exoperiences were bad every time, then I say stop going....

Ohh, I LOVE THE PRINCESS BREAKFAST IN NORWAY!!!!!!
