LeCellier Steakhouse the most coveted 1T ADR in Epcot's World Showcase and we were about to have our much anticipated dinner. How exciting to have scored an ADR at only 2 months out. It pays to keep trying.

I've dined at LeCellier a few times and most recently in Oct with my husband for his 60th birthday celebration. Our plan this evening was for me to have dinner at LeCellier for my 60th birthday at about the same time as his. Our 60th birthday restaurant:love: Even though he couldn't be there except in spirit. DS would be with me. Silly I know but with the ADR at the same time it was working out well.
We arrived early for our 7:30pm ADR. Signed in at the podium and was handed a pager. Before settling down to wait we were wisked to our table.

I always get the same table. Sure enough there we were being shown to that "terrible twos" table again in the Province of Quebec section. Except this time I didn't mind sitting in the same seat at the same table. Drink orders were taken. Pomegranate Lemonade with a splash of real ice tea and lemon on the side. Our server was warm and friendly and wished me a Happy Birthday and Peter a Congratulations on his graduation from high school. Looking over the menu I decided to order the same entree I had in Oct. I chose the coveted "Le Cellier" Mushroom Fillet Mignon.

Filet mignon with wild mushroom risotto, covered with white truffles and herb butter sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection. The risotto was ok. Overall everything had too much salt. Overpowering. It didn't matter I ate like a convict.
At some point my server (who shall forever remain nameless) asked me why I was taking pics of the food. She didn't ask the gentleman at the next table just me. I explained that I'm a foodie and like to share them in my trip reports when I get back home. She stated that she didn't like it when people posted pics of servers and mentioned their names on the boards. She went into great detail about a particular incident at which time my eyes glazed over and all I could think of was "Let me eat please while it's hot!" Eventually she took a breath and I was able to explain I had no intention of mentioning anyones name and I wouldn't even think of taking her pic. Peter ordered the NY strip steak topped with bercy butter and served with Gruyere Yukon Gold Potato Gratin. I didn't notice the bercy butter. The gratin was so small I didn't ask to taste it. I did taste his steak and it was very good. Cooked to just the right temp. All was very filling even though it doesn't look like it would be from the pics. It was! I only wish they'd added a little vegetable and cut back on the salt. We ate like convicts
Then it was time for dessert. We ordered the Chocolate "Moose" and the Passion Fruit Sorbet.

Always thinking about the next photo op I envisioned my sorbet would be served on a special Happy Birthday plate as DH had in Oct.

Oh well, it was refreshing. The passion fruit sorbet was topped with a sugar glazed lime. A great ending to a meal.
We very much enjoyed our dinners and will certainly go back someday when it's 1T once again.

Thanks for sharing!:goodvibes
My family loves LeCellier. It has always been a favorite.
But, we wouldn't dish out "2ts" for it. I try to understand it at the entertainment and dining level. But to raise LeCellier, just because of it's popularity; Does that seem a bit greedy to anyone else?
I haven't been back on the Disney dining plan the past couple of trips, for a few reasons. Thats a whole other post.
Thanks again for the lovely pictures (and memories);)

It does seem a bit greedy. Unless they really beef up the menu for dinner we'll stick with lunchtime. I don't like eating large meals for lunch so it may be a long time before we go back.
We have DVC and purchasing the DDP is not always in our plans. It just worked out well this trip.

Thank you for the reivew! We have our last ADR there for next Fri until they bring it back to 1ts as well. I love the mushroom filet but I dont see its worth 2TS. I always sub cream cheese mash potatos with the filet they are devine together!
That server seemed a bit on the rude side but maybe she has just had a bag experience, I hope I dont get her..LOL

Ohooh, cream cheese mash potatoes sounds really good. Didn't know that was an option. I'll have to try it if and when we go back.

Our server said she and the other servers don't like having their pic posted on the internet. They have to wear nametags with their hometowns on it. People see them and know their names and where they're from. She's got a point. I always ask before I take anyones pic anyway and block out their nametag if I ever post it. Whomever posted her pic also panned the meal. She's more than camera shy.

Just take pics of your food. If your server says something about it and it's your birthday:scared1: switch tables:rotfl:No really other than that she was lovely and of course the food was fabulous.

thank you for your review of Le Cellier......it probably will remain a favorite for the crowds even with the new 2T's ...we enjoy the prime rib and Cheddar cheese soup with our bread....I too had the sorbet when we were there and it ended my meal with a nice feeling.

Thanks again and I am glad that you and your son enjoyed your 60th celebration.....

SNORK!!! :lmao: This totally cracked me up!
:)

You're welcome. I love the cheddar cheese soup and the pretzel bread:cloud9:

It'll probably be easier to get a dinner ADR when it goes to 2T.

We ate at Le Cellier on Sept 5th and our server made a few interesting comments about the 2TS change:

1. The menu will be completely revamped. There will be several filets, not just the mushroom one.
2. He wasn't that convinced that the 2TS would last. I guess it depends on the demand. If we all stay away maybe they will change it back.

I ate lunch there on Sept. 4. Had a real blast. I didn't order any steak. I had three appetizers and a chocolate whiskey cake.

I will try the signature version as soon as I find out what the non-steak alternatives are, as I don't order steak in restaurants. I don't do DDP so I find it encouraging that maybe DDP guests won't line up for dinner and I'll be able to get a reservation without signing on at 6 AM at 180 days. I don't intend to stay away.

What a great place to celebrate your birthday!!! Le Cellier was my favorite dinner restaurant on our recent trip. Glad you enjoyed your mushroom filet!!

Strange about the waitress and the photos of food...I took photos there and had a great waitress. Not sure what I would have done if I had that conversation.

What a great review and amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing your celebration with us and your memories...I was also interested to see that halibut had returned to the menu here!

Gee, I hope he's right. They've gone 2T before for dinner and come back. It'll be tough staying away for dinner:confused3

Mmmm! That sounds so delicious. :cloud9: The only place I've skipped an entree was once @ Flying Fish. I had an app and was so delighted I ordered another.

Strange about the waitress and the photos of food...
Hopefully she'll be cycled out by the time we return:)

Would love to try the Brioche-crusted Pacific Halibut but I can't seem to get past feeding my filet craving when presented with the menu.

Now I'm hungry again and I just had my salad!

I too would not pay 2 TS for Le Cellier

I guess we ate there for our last time Sept 2010

If the demand remains high at 2TS, it won't change back. It's a very simple case of supply & demand. ECON 101

LC lunch will remain 1T so there's no need to give up on it entirely. That is if you can even get a lunch ADR. I'm guessing they'll be even more difficult to get. Pre-dawn, 180 days out:surfweb:Scoring a ressie will be like winning the lottery:sad2:

I don't mean to be contrary, but according to Disney's website, Le Cellier shouldn't have been a 2T restaurant until 3/1/11.

Yes. This review was for 2 people for dinner and in my humble opinion would not have been worth 2 Table service credits. Certainly 1T not 2T, JMHO:)

In talking with both my server and a manager last Tuesday, they said that with the switch to Signature status, the restaurant will definitely be "plussed up" - not just the menu, but also just the physical trappings.

In fact, some of the changes are going to be phased in over the coming months, so that diners will be able to enjoy some of the upgrades before the switch to Signature status.

Thank you for the clarification, I misunderstood. Me and DW are going in Feb. and made ADR at Le Cellier. I wanted to make sure I wasn't making a big mistake.
