I am thinking of booking LeCellier for lunch instead of dinner so we can hit epcot in the a.m. since most of the rides close earlier and World Showcase stays open late - we are a ride family. We have young kids and do a break in the afternoon so I would need to eat in the park we are at that a.m. Have you done LeCellier for lunch? If so how is it? Is the food just as good/big portions/ value for your money vs. dinner? (we are on the dining plan - trying to get good bang for the buck). Thanks.

Both are very very good.

The lunch menu is "slightly" different than the dinner menu. It is cheaper (significantly in many cases) and the portions are smaller for lunch.

However my favorite is the Beer Cheese Soup. Incredible!!!! In fact I'd just get a big bowl of that for my meal!

Just FYI, the food is GREAT but, for the price I'd go for lunch since it's not that much different.

Lunch and dinner menus are nearly identical. They have both posted outside along the main walkway around WS so you don't have to walk all the way to the restaurant. There are some items available only at dinner.

Our family has done both lunch and dinner there. Both meals were great, although lunch felt a little less "rushed" and it was slightly less crowded than dinner. I'd recommend both; either one is a great value on the dining plan.

My DD and I had lunch there our last trip. Loved it! We had some of the cheese soup, and split a really big steak sandwich. We went for lunch because we had heard it was a better deal $$$ but still great food.

I had lunch there in August after reading such rave reviews on the Dis Boards. I must say I was a bit disappointed with the actual meal. Loved the cheese soup and pretzel bread, but my chicken was very dry. I can't compare it to dinner, since I haven't been there at that time. It wasn't my best meal at the World, but it wasn't my worst either. I will try it again, though, since so many people love it - and I will order something different.

the 3 of us enjoyed lunch at Le Cellier this past Friday & the lunch was wonderful & plentiful, the service excellent.
DS16 had the roast beef sandwich au jus, DH loved the steak & I had a steak open faced sandwich, which was fabulous. DH sampled 2 Canadian brews, I tried the ice wine. we all thought the cheese soup was lovely.
Best of all we called up late that AM for reservations at 1:30 pm the same day.
We like to do big lunches & a smaller dinner & all these last 10 days we've been able to make same day reservations for: Le Cellier; Chefs de France; Marrakesh;WCC & Boma-

we did the lunch and i think the strip steak we got might have been an few oz smaller but it was big enough for me( about $5-7 cheaper) from the pic. of dinner the sides look about the same.we went in Jan and literally were the only people there for about 1/2 the meal. the food was good, service good although we had a trainee.

we do big lunch and small dinner usually unless there is someplace we want to try that is only open for dinner. next trip i want to try the dining plan so i don't know if we will stick to that routine or not. most menus have both sandwiches and full meal entrees for lunch.

Thank you all for this information as we are going there for lunch as well. I am so looking forward to trying that cheese soup and pretzel bread!!

Oh and don't forget the creamed cheese mashed potatoes and the chocolate raspberry shake (not on the plan-but definitely worth it!) YUM!

Thanks everyone, we booked it for lunch for our stay. I like going to Epcot in the a.m. so lunch will be nice after the parks in the morning. Sounds delicious, can't wait to try it this year.

But *can* you get a big bowl of the cheese soup? There's only one price listed on the menu ($4.99), which I'm sure is for the little appetizer sized cup. I would happily pay more for a big bowl that I could make a meal of if such an animal existed.
