Lecelleier Seating Problem

Possibly a stupid question, but... For a party of 5 (not 7 or 8, just 5), of which 3 are small kiddos, why can't they just put an extra chair at a four-top? I wouldn't want to try it with five adults, all ordering several courses and drinks, but I would think Mom, Dad, and three small DDs would be fine?

I am betting that they take this into consideration and that's what they do. They always ask if there are any children in the party, probably to see if any of the diners are small enough to squeeze into a smaller space. I really think that when they book one party into two separate tables, it is just to get them into the system and that they know the restaurant staff will get it figured out and get them seated together once they are all there.

We had a party of 11 last trip, and we had to wait for about 40 minutes past our ADR time for 3 tables of 4 to open up. We were off in an area in the back of the restaurant by ourselves which was nice, but we still had to wait for those tables to all open up. We were set up booth, table, booth...all in a row.
