I've never been to WDW at this time of year. Going now for son (17) to participate in AAU track meet at WWS. Just the two of us this trip; 3 days in the parks after he competes in the mornings.

We're used to park hopping to catch as many of nighttime events as possible. But we usually are there in fall, with much smaller crowds. Will we be able to watch Illuminations and then catch the boat to MGM for the 10:30 Fantasmic? Would we be likely to get in to Fantasmic then?

Also, we have PS at the Wilderness Lodge at 7:15. Would we be able to take the boat to MK and get in for Wishes at 10:00 and Spectro at 11:00?

Finally (for now!), I had laser vein surgery last week and recup not going as quickly as planned. Will need to wear full hi-grade compression stockings during my trip -- hot, hot! Also, have trouble standing too long. Don't really want to go the wheelchair route, but wondering if there are any other options if I'm in a lot of pain and can't stand in line.

Thanks for any suggestions. Leaving for the airport in 9 hours.

I think you should be fine with your Whispering Canyon dinner and having time to get to MK for Wishes and Spectro. Maybe you'll even have time to spare for some rides! :goodvibes

I don't know about Illuminations and then getting to MGM in time for Fastasmic. Maybe if you did a Fastasmic dinner package then you could have dinner, go see Illuminations and quickly make it back for Fastasmic--anyone have a good guess about this.

As for standing in line--get Fastpasses so your wait will be minimal and take advantage of the AC in the shops when walking so you will be able to cool off. Those stockings are dreadful!

Have a great time!

Do you have a car? I don't believe I would rely on buses to make it.

Let's see... Illuminations is at 9pm, 20 minutes puts you at 9:30pm. If you watch from the bridge leading to International Gateway, you can make a beeline to the boat. Assuming the boat is right there, it'll take you about 30 minutes to get to MGM, putting you about 10:00pm. As long as you don't mind where you're sitting at Fantasmic, I would say yes, you can do it assuming you move fast enough.

The WL scenario is much more doable. WL dinner give or take 1 1/2 hours puts you roughly around 9:00pm. Enough time to get to MK, however you'll find that Main St will be crowded by then, so if you're OK with watching Wishes from another place, go directly to Frontierland. You can still see the fireworks and you'll have a great spot for Spectro.

We will have a car, but I had planned to use the back entrance to take the boat to MGM. I guess then we'll take a bus from MGM back to Epcot to get the car afterwards.

Take the car and park at MGM. Take the boat from MGM to Epcot, watch Illuminations at Epcot, then finish out the day at MGM.

Yeah, that's probably a better idea with the car. Do you think we'll be able to get in to Fastasmic at the last minute (for the late show) one evening this week? I realize seats won't be prime, but that's okay.
