We are leaving tomorrow and I am starting to panic about our baby wipes not making it through security...I checked the TSA website and didn't see them mentioned as "banned" but I would hate to be wrong about this.
My gut feeling is that the ban is just for actual liquids and gels, but because the wipes are moist, I am nervous.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Baby wipes are fine... just remember to have a baby with you ;)

...now my chances of sleeping tonight have greatly improved.

Now if I could only find that baby....:rotfl:

Thanks for replying so quickly!

what about purell wipes??? are these allowed??

Wipes in any form are fine. Purell bottles would be allowed as long as they are less than 3.4 oz, you would put them in a clear quart bag and put it through the x-ray separate. Liquids and gels are not totally banned in carryon, they just need to be less than 3.4 oz (100ML).

Don't panic! I just flew with a 18 month old at the beginning of January. I feared going through security with him becaues of all the "extras" you take with you when you have a baby. I read the TSA website and pretty much packed most of our stuff in the checked luggage except wipes.

My husbad is a diabetic though, and I packed his insulin in a ziplock bag and put it in a insulated cooler with a blue gel pack. I knew that there would be a possibility of them making me throw away the gel pack. If it happened I was ok with that.

Security never even looked at it! Both on our trip down to FL and our return trip.

I say relax, they aren't as picky as the media is making them out to be!
