I can't believe this. Well, I can believe it, but don't want to.

I think dd is getting sick. She has been coughing and feels warm tonight. She's been complaining of a headache all afternoon.

I'm finishing an antibiotic for strep and bronchitis and ds had strep 2 weeks ago.

We're leaving thursday morning for 10 nights.

I could just throw up right now. I don't know what to do. I hope that she's just overtired. She's been very weepy and crying alot this afternoon

Any ideas???

I am sorry to hear that she might be getting sick right before your trip. I would call the doctor first thing in the morning and see what they say or better yet make her an appointment. The good thing about kids is they bounce back fast, so if she is getting strep or bronchitis, then maybe you can get a head start on it. Let us know how she is. I will send you lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

We have lots of experience with this. On our first three trips to DW we have spent at least one day in the urgent care.

We have also been in the spot that you have.

I would bring her to the doctor TOMORROW and ask them to do a strep test. Then tell him/her that you are leaving for DW and since both you and ds have been on antibiotics, can he/she give you a prescription in case dd gets worse or the strep test is positive.

My doctor was willing to do this for us. Hopefully yours will be too.

We leave on 4/16 and my kids will be quarantined from playdates, birthday parties, etc. the week before then, and they will be bathing daily in hand sanitizer ;)

Good luck!

I hope and pray the doc tomorrow will be reasonable and do this...ie: give me a script in case.

I will keep her home from school regardless.

In the event I need to take her to urgent care, where/how should we go? We are staying at the Beach Club and I will not have a car.

This always seems to happen to us...They either get sick before or while we are there.

This time my 4 year old DD got pink eye and an ear infection on Monday (we leave this Sunday). Thankfully, that still gave us 6 days for her to get better. I took her to the doctor immediately and he gave her antibiotics.

I also have a 2 year old DS which I immediately sent over to my in-laws for a few days hoping he wouldn't get it too. My MIL called last night and told me he had a fever and his eye looked a little pink (although she wasn't sure it was pink eye since he had been rubbing his eyes since he had just woken up). To be sure, I quickly made an appt for this am with the Dr. just in case.

Good luck!

I think your child will feel awful being at wdw while sick....and if it is strep it is very catchey.Do you have someone that can stay in the room with her/him a few days while everyone else goes to the parks? Please keep in mind all the MAW kids that should not be exposed to those kind of germs plus if your flying all the people on the plane that may end up in their rooms on their vacation.I hope your child feels better soon...maybe it is just a 24 hour thing:hug: Do you by any chance have travel insurance? The good thing is you have 10 days so if you spend a few in your room you will still have time to have fun. GOOD LUCK

There is an urgent care right near Downtown Disney (near the Gooding's plaza/Pizza Uno/mini golf mountain).

I believe that each hotel will provide transportation to this particular urgent care, since they seem to send everyone to this particular location. I would go as soon as it opens or you might have to wait a few hours. My 3 month old had wheezing so we were helped immediately (not going to make a 3 mo old w/ breathing problems wait in the waiting area), but when I went back the same week for dd's strep and my severe poison ivy (yes...it was a banner trip!) we had to wait about 3 hours.

But they are super nice and very knowledgeable.

Good luck.

Also, I know that this is still debatable as to the effects, but i had all of my kids take Airborne every day (on another trip) before we left and while we were there.

Well, she seems to feel fine this morning. I don't know what' going on with her. I'm still going to take her to the doctor just in case.

It's just she and I going. We have no travel insurance. If she does get ill, we'll just hang out in our room together. Usually it's short lived.

However, she seems fine this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I have a feeling she was really overtired yesterday.

If I got to the doctor and it turned out she had strep, I wouldn't take her on a plane unless she'd been on antibiotics at least 24 hrs.

Just got back from the doctor. All checked out ok. in office strep test was negative. She wrote me a script in the unlikely event that the one they send out came back positive.

She seemed to think it's just a cold.

Dd is acting fine today so hopefully it's just the sniffles!

May be sinuses. Since the weather is so up and down right now and some things are starting to bloom she may have excess sinus goo. Have you tried any nasal spray or allergy meds to dry her out?

I've been battling it for a week now.

I was just wondering about allergies! Very very possible since she is her mother's daughter!:)

LOL! My whole house is stuffy and the weather isn't helping... 36 in the morning... 60 by 1. :(

I'm going to dry out my kids before we fly down in the fall. I'm worried about their ears and the plane plus the different green stuff in Florida than here in IN!

Good luck!
