Leaving the parks after fireworks

We NEVER try to exit with the masses after fireworks! It just isn't worth it. We always hang around and shop or grab an ice cream. The crush of humanity leaving the park all at once just isn't worth dealing with.

This is very cool! How long did you wait around to see this?

I can't quite recall, but I'd guess it may have been 45 minutes to an hour (my family loves to shop after closing at MouseGear). If you're near a CM with a park radio, they'll give the CMs a warning a couple of minutes in advance not to panic when they hear the "Boom" (they've since added a PA announcement). We've seen it a couple of times now. Basically they blow off all of the excess LPG left in the barge's tanks with one big fireball. Here's a video of it: YouTube Link.

There is the same exit right next to Crystal Palace that takes you behind the stores. They opened it up on 12/24 after the fireworks. We have used them on both sides of the street.

Just a note.. The Crystal Palace/Caseys Corner exit is only open at Filled-to-Capacity nights. {Like July 3/4, Dec 24/25, 30/31.}

after fireworks, do you run to the buses or do you try to take your time and let the rush get out and then get out of the parks? Just curious if there is a way around the crowds waiting for the buses?

Not really, no. Just know in advance that it's going to be nuts and be ready to roll with it.

In these situations I entertain myself watching others freak out for whatever reason. I know I'm going to get to my destination sooner or later, might as well people watch.

We always hang around and often shop at MouseGear too but somehow have never seen this. My boys would like to though! Thanks! Now I'll know to look/wait for it!
