I know...isn't it sad? I am hoping that the rain doesn't ruin the whole trip. Plus, did you see all of the smoke from the local fires is now being smelled at the parks.
The last time I was there they called for Thunderstorms each day. We did get them but they usually lasted 30 minutes or less. We had poncho's and an umbrella and were fine. It really didn't impact our day at all.
I hope the same rings true for your upcoming trip!!!
Considering most of the state is experiencing fires, I would gladly welcome some showers. Very seldom does it rain for long periods of time, so I would just be prepared for short showers.
I think the showers are the afternoon type that are common for Florida, very short lived. However the smoke from the fires has me very concerned as the air quality for the Orlando area is the worst in the country right now. http://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.showlocal&CityID=176
Looking at the Weather Channel website's 10-day forecast? They always do that. From late April until late Sept., 7 or 8 of the 10 days will say either 'Scattered T-storms' (40% chance) or 'Isolated T-storms' (30%). They do this to increase the perceived accuracy of their predictions.
Think of it this way: if they predict thunderstorms, and none occur, everyone's happy and no one gives it a second thought. If they don't predict them, and it rains for half an hour in the afternoon (as it sometimes does), everyone complains that the forecast was wrong.
Don't sweat it. After all, '30% chance of rain' is just a pessimist's way of saying '70% chance of sunshine'.
Don't worry about it we go every year at this time and rarely have more than an afternoon shower. Your not looking at all day long steady rains, although that's what is really needed.
We had the same forecase, but the rain didn't last the whole day. We still got a nice about of time in the pool and had our ponchos ready. Rain is not a big deal in Disney, because you can still do things.
Don't think about it. Just go and make like the forecase is going to be sunny every day.
We just got back and our 10 day before the trip had rain predicted nearly everyday too and it rarely rained - in fact it never rained while we were at the parks! I couldn't really notice any smoke either!
