I am so stressed out at the moment. Everything was going according to plan until yesterday when I found out that someone that was helping us with our dog while we're away isn't going to be able to do it. (they didn't even call me, I called them to verify everything with them and they informed me that they made plans and wouldn't be able to do it) GRRRRR!

Anyway, so today my darling DD4 comes home from pre-school and within an hour her nose starts running! She's been back and forth to the tissue box a gazillion times in the last hour. I'm PRAYING it's allergies and she's not getting sick. The flight will be just wonderful for her if she's congested. :sad2: I'm worried/stressed!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

Shelby

same here leaving saturday morning. where are you staying if I may ask.

We stay at the VWL. You?

Shelby

Oh, it will all be ok! So your daughter might have a little cold, the warm and sunshine will knock it right out of her!

You will find someone else to watch your dog, and you will have a FABULOUS time! I was very stressed a few weeks ago, check out this thread.... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1573273

There's tons of great advice there!

Don't worry, tons of people stress out right before a trip. Just remind yourself that it will work out, and in a few days, all this pre-trip crap will be done and over with and you'll be hanging out with the mouse!!

If you see a tall, really tall dad, a crazy baby-wearing mama, a 5 year old screaming, "I want to ride Buzz 5000 times", a two year old staring at Cinderella, a baby happily nursing through all the noise, and a Grandma enjoying every second, that's us! If you're brave enough, come on over and say hi! We'll be there the 21-30th!

I hope your daughter feels better and it is just allergies besides being in WDW will magically make her feel alot better.

I know, I know...I just feel like I got the wind taken out of my sails. :sad1: I planned EVERYTHING for not only us but we'll be a group of 18 at one point. I organized the whole trip and of course want it to be perfect. Well, how can it be perfect if my sweet little girl is sick? If she isn't feeling well on the plane that's going to be very unpleasant. I just feel bummed.

Brandy - I got some LGMH's that I plan on attaching to my little Jansport mini backpack. It's bubble gum pink. I don't know how many of us will be together at any given time but our immediate group is myself (shorty), my hubby (tall - a foot taller than me), our DS8 who will hover around Space Mountain any chance he gets, our DD4 who loves the Winnie the Pooh ride, and my father in law who will be acting like a little kid (tall) ~ please say hello to us!! We'll be EVERYWHERE!!

You guys going to the water parks???

Shelby

OK...I'm glad I'm not the only one stressed! We leave Saturday too!! I have this horrible cough now and I just pray it gets better over the next 2 days!
I am also stressed about the packing and making sure my house is cleaned up before I go. Yes, I am insane but I hate coming home to a messy house!:)

Us TOO.

And our whole family came down with the nose thing over the weekend too.

Right now everyone but my youngest with Asthma sounds OK. We have been doing AirBornes round the clock along with Clairatin. We swear by AirBornes

Nope, it's not just you. I'm actually taking my DD4 to the Dr. I don't want to take any chances that she has ean ear infection or sinus infection brewing. Good thing I called, my Dr has abbreviated hours today and won't be in tomorrow at all! I also have a bottle of antibiotics packed just in case she gets worse.:)

Why does something always have to happen right before a trip??? I just don't get it. Like I'm not stressed enough trying to keep this whole trip a secret for so long. Trying to slowly put things aside for the trip so that my children won't notice some of their clothes are missing. :rolleyes1

I can't wait until we're there!!!

Shelby

Well listen to this. DS5 just started kindergarten last month, and already Fifth's Disease is going around. That was about 2 weeks ago. So this morning, I go to pick up the other kids that I carpool with, and one of the boys has this nasty rash all over his face. AHHH- it's Fifths Disease. But at this point he is not contagious, so they are allowed to go to school. Which means, that most likely my son has already been exposed to it, so there is nothing that I can do about it. The worst part is our Disney trip starts tomorrow and our flight leaves at 10 AM tomorrow morning. There is nothing that I can do, so I will just cross my fingers & hope that he will not get it. Oh the joys of being a parent of school aged children!!

But the good news is -- in less than 24 hours I will be at Disney!!!

I can tell you from personal experience that it sounds worse than it is. My son had that and the only symptom he had were pink cheeks that felt hot. Same thing with my daughter. It's really not that big of a deal so even if he does get it, no one will know - they'll just give you dirty looks because they'll think you don't put sunblock on your child. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I'm officially done being stressed out. I'm too excited now!!! I can't wait to wake our children at 4am on Saturday with the surprise news that in 30 minutes we're headed to DISENY!  They're going to go crazy!!

Oh my gosh! I'm so excited I'm going to throw up!

Shelby

I agree -- let's just stop stressing out about sickness & packing, and just enjoy the fact that in a day or two we will be at Disney!!
I'm heading back out to Target now, (for like the 5th time), to get a few things I forgot yesterday. DH does not help me at all with packing for the 4 of us, so it's always stressful for me the last few days making sure we have everything. How lucky for him that all he has to do is get to Disney & have fun, with none of the work before hand. (can you tell I'm a little irritated??)
But, oh yeah, I forgot, I'm supposed to let all that go -- deep breath in, blow it out, deep breath in, blow it out! Thank goodness I was able to make it to my pilates class this morning- it'll keep me breathing for the next 24 hours!!

Well, talk about stressed. We kept this trip a secret for 11 months only to have it blown today. Someone who knew about it let the cat out of the bag so I don't get to surprise my own child. Someone else got to do it. I'm SOOOO aggravated. And with only about 12 hours left until we were leaving. It wasn't a slip either, it was deliberate. I'm very happy tp be heading to Disney in the morning but very unhappy I was robbed of the chance to surprise my DS8.

Oh no, that is awful!!! Why would someone do that deliberately??? I hope your daughter feels better in time for the trip. We leave Wednesday and my DH has bronchitis, and I started getting sick this week. But it isn't going to stop us, we're going anyway and will try to make the best of it.

I just saw a great ad on tv for airborne for kids...like a single to make lemonade or koolaid with bottled water..great idea I guess:) at least for the $$$$ maker

I had a heck of a time getting ahold of our dogsitter..He kept promising to pick up our house key....finally, he did at 4 pm today..sigh.

DD has a nasty cold...I am fighting it..hopefully, we can feel better there!!

DH is miffed that DD will miss picture day...my Mom planned this trip 6 months ago, how the heck was she to know when picture day was...:rotfl2:

Like a four year old is going to be upset years later that she wasn't in the class picture...I would rather do Disney baby!!!

Oh, and DH isn't home yet..;hasn't packed, and there are still errands to do...:scared:

Hope every thing turned out. Have a great vacation.
