Hi All

Well, I fax'd our room request this morning - just asked for a smoking room with a coffee pot and a savannah view (which we booked) preferably with Zebra's.

I explained how my son has to do 2 reports on animals and that the Zebra was his favorite.

I also stated how this was a celebratory trip - that our son graduated this year from speech therapy and that he is now reading at grade level and no longer has to take special reading classes. Our son didn't start talking til he was abt 3-1/2 yrs old due to a distorted hearing problem that was surgically corrected back then.

Hopefully didn't ask for too much - but we'll find out Sat at about 6pm - our flight from Calif doesn't arrive til 430pm.

We're pretty much packed and I am so excited I can't stand it :D

Can't Wait!!!!!

I know how you must feel. My son (8) was MISDIAGNOSED with a mild form of autism at 3 due to the fact that he seemed not to hear/respond when spoken to. We found out later (due to the fact that we always felt he was not autistic since he had no other symptoms) that he has an auditory processing delay. We were told he would never be in "a regular" class. Well, all the "Experts" were wrong. He is doing wonderfully in second grade and reading on grade level, though he still has some issues with written and verbal comprehension. He still has speech (5 years now) for grammatical issues, but we will definitely be celebrating his release from speech in the next year or two (sounds like a reason for a second trip to WDW :earsboy:). My heart goes out to you since I know what a long and frustrating road it can be for a child with speech issues.

I can't imagine a more magical and memorable place to take your son. I hope your stay at AKL includes a breakthtaking view of zebras. Your son has worked hard and deserves it. Have a safe trip!:sunny:
